Anyone have a CJ as their mod-fun rig so they can keep their Taco clean?

All original?? Since 1978!?!?!? You sir, are awesome. If I had something since 1978 it probably wouldn’t even look like a Jeep anymore. I’d mod the mods haha.

I had a 1980 Cj-5 before I got into my Tacoma, and I really missed having a Jeep. So now I have both my Taco and a 1984 J20 truck

Pretty much stock. I fabricated the stainless steel bumpers and the front grill guard myself. Went up one tire size from the stock tire size and after buying three soft tops over a ten year period I bought and installed the ACME hard top. I rebuilt the transmission and transfer case in 1982 and I rebuilt the original 304 V8 engine in 1987. I am in the process of gathering parts to redo the fuel system and the steering system now.:D

I had this well before the Taco came along. I built it from scratch. Had a AMC 360 V-8 with 3-Speed, Hooker headers, and dual Flowmasters. It was quite a head-turner.

Had this 78 long before the Taco (which I have only owned 2 weeks). 360 AMC V-8 (same block as 304), Tremec 3-Spd, 2 /2" lift, Dana 20, Dual FlowMasters. I built from scratch. It was fun for a few years then nobody drove it, including my 2 teenagers. So I moved on to the next toy. Engine in the before pic was not used as that was the 6-cyl.

Bought my Tacoma to replace a 20 year old TJ with a 4 banger. If you can find a CJ see if you can get a tranny with more than 3 gears. That would have been outstanding on my 77 CJ-5.

Not a CJ, but I have a 2004 LJ that I love. My old 06 LJ was the one Jeep that I missed, so now that I have a Tacoma, I went back and got one for a fun vehicle. I do it drive it to work occasionally and after driving it, my 3.5 feels super peppy

That's one of the nicest land cruising "jeeps" I've seen.
