Overlanding = Glamping actually. Way overboard to go to a state park with paved roads. :bananadance:

In Kentucky, provided you're not talking about sales tax, whoever owns the vehicle on January 1st pays taxes on the vehicle for the year. If I trade my vehicle in before Jan 1, I pay tax (not sales) on the vehicle for that year, and dealer pays tax on the vehicle I trade in. Conversely, If I buy on Jan 2, I pay on tax on the vehicle I trade in, and dealers pays tax on the new one. Sales tax and usage tax vary from state to state, and are very different.

I did not pay for a full tank when I bought mine, at least it wasn't itemized. That's just BS.

$10.24.......put in during the QC at after assembly. I wouldn’t pay the dealer for filling the tank either.

The full tank is supposed to part of what is included in a reasonable dealer prep fee.

Overlanding is self-reliant overland travel to remote destinations where the journey is the principal goal. Typically, but not exclusively, it is accomplished with mechanized off-road capable transport (from bicycles to trucks) where the principal form of lodging is camping, often lasting for extended lengths of time (months to years) and spanning international boundaries.

It's an Australian term that the U.S. has turned into something totally different. People are going camping (which is totally fine, and I enjoy myself) and trying to call it something that sounds flashier and more hip/cool. It's spiraled into the social media hype that it is today and a lot of new companies and websites have capitalized on it as well. No harm in it from what I can tell. I just think it's funny that someone goes to their local national park for the weekend and call it overlanding instead of just camping.

I would equate it to saying I went backpacking across the Netherlands, when in reality, I went for a day hike at the park.

So we've seen some 2020s delivered to dealers already. Has anyone seen one with a VIN starting with "5"? From what I've seen no San Antonio plant trucks have been delivered yet, has anyone seen anything to disprove my theory that only Mexico plant trucks are out so far? This would also be why we haven't seen any Pros yet.

The only ones I've seen confirmed are located in SoCal and Arizona. So that would make sense that they are coming from the plant in Mexico.

Might be a while before they reach Pennsylvania :(

You paid 43k for a 45k sticker? That isn’t terrible this early in the model year. Good to hear the tranny is fixed. Please report back in a few thousand miles. I am also interested in cruise control behavior on road trips.

To be clear, the tax is to the buyer. I agree that a used item, that has already had sales tax paid on it, should not have additional taxes. However, because it does, it makes sense for the seller to get a credit for the amount they sold their car for when they buy a new one...

The Pro Grills for 2019 don’t have a location for the all terrain camera that comes on 2020. So I found a picture of the 2020 pro grill and saw the camera is mounted above TOYOTA. So I had to modify the 2019 grill to accommodate the camera.

So what you are seeing is what the dealer paid “invoice” which includes the few gallons it was shipped with to them. Everyone pays for this. The dealership paid 42634 I paid 43234 (600 over invoice) MSRP was 45588. I hope that explains it but if not oh well.

I had my dealer down to $40,300 + tax on a voodoo 2020. It had the multicams (better than the pan I guess), leather, moonroof, and all the other usual stuff - bed light, I got them to agree to a bed mat, etc. NO led headlights or blackout pkg. though.

I decided on a 19 cav blue - leather, moonroof, bed mat, etc... for $35,500. I could not justify $5k for cameras, 1 power seat, android auto (I can get that aftermarket for a couple hundred) and a bed light.

So i contacted a couple more dealers in central florida and heard back, they all want msrp not a penny less for the limited. Telling me how there is only 2 cement limited allocated to the entire state of florida right now. I might have to just wait till december or whenever the usaa carbuying program reflects the 2020

To often I read posts that are impossible to determine exactly how much under invoice.

When you guys have ordered or put money down on a truck, how long does it usually take the dealer to get you a build date?
