it always amazes me seeing these charts and the names/teams that show up that don't even get a 2nd look or mention and just how few "big boys" really show up on the stats sheets.

 

Prime-time Exposure sure helps. I get the quality of competition argument, but if a mediocre line is blocking a mediocre defense, it's still on the players to make plays happen.

 

The Special Teams in the Neb Northern Illinois game was comical at best.

Neb had 2 blocked PATs and a blocked FG... They eventually went to a safety that used to kick in high school to finish the game... the current kicker (the punter) couldn't get the timing down. Starting Kicker is still out with injury.

NIU had 2 blocked punts and a failed fake punt. One of the punts the punter didn't even try and kick it... He just dropped it and braced for impact

Its the perfect scenario. UF loses QB, new guy is good but UF as a whole is just not a good football team. Plus, with the history of UT in having bad seasons, they always beat someone they "shouldn't" although I firmly believe UT and UF are closer to equal than their rankings and records show.
