And a new head unit, Pano cameras, Multi-terrain cameras, car play, android auto, factory remote start from a cell phone (AT only of course), thicker window glass and probably some things I'm missing. Tech wise it is a completely different truck.

Love my 18. Dont mind TSS at all. It activated brakes before i could get to them once, car in front of me slammed on the brakes going like 50km/hr. I still wouldve stopped safely without TSS, but a lot of times its not you, its the other bad drivers around you. The adaptive cruise is amazing feature as well.

I dont have a lot of problems like others are complaining about. Hesitation, diff howl, vibrations, rough idle, lack of power etc. I guess they worked out most of the bugs by 2017-2018. I only had to get 1 ECU update, recall on TSS , recall on master brake cylinder and the good old squeaky clutch pedal. Other than that, the truck is flawless, i love it. I will keep it for a very long time.

I thought so too at first, and then I got a 2018 due to me wanting Inferno and time was running out. Also, with the used prices, it didnt make sense to pay the same price for a 2017 that I got this 2018 Sport for.
Anyway, the adaptive cruise control I am not a huge fan of, it works, but not well enough for me to tell everyone about it. The lane departure warning is good, and the pre collision warning system actually worked in my favor one time. So, in the beginning, I was hesitant on buying the 2018 model, but now I am glad I did.

Thicker glass? Interesting, any idea why they did that?

Im on my second windshield in a year, seems like you look at it wrong and it cracks. Never had such brittle windshield on any of my vehicles.

I think the 2020 Pro model only went up $1k. You get a lot of bang-for-buck with standard LED headlamps w/sequential turn signals, power drivers seat, multiple cameras, etc.

The reviewer that noted it (and sorry I don't remember which one it was, I'm buying a 2020 Pro so I've watched them all) said it was to reduce cabin noise. I don't think he was referring to the windshield, more the side and rear safety glass.

Now...could you imagine paying almost half that, but having the same capability and with the bigger rear end?

From what I could gather on Toyota’s Build and Price sheet, the Multi-Terrain camera (MTM as Toyota calls it), is part of the Advanced Technology Package, which adds another $900.

That would bring the difference in MSRP between my 2019 and 2020 TRDOR to a whopping $3,400. That is not insignificant money.

The only thing they added that should be more expensive is the power seats. The rest is just *different*. It shouldn't cost more to have a head unit added with android auto. But they'll charge you through the ass just because it's better than last year's.

Interesting, my cab is already super quiet with closed windows. How much more quiet they want? Haha

Can you have the auto braking on and the lane departure warning off at same time ? I don't like the lane departure warning .

Supplemental restraint is much different than lane monitoring, BSM, auto braking, and pseudo auto pilots.
