My take on oba

Basically a morrflate works really well and no need to unwrap/wrap airline each time.

 

Why does my ARB Dual Compressor keep blowing fuses? This morning it wouldn't start and both 40amp fuses were blown. This has been happening about once a week now.

 

I need to know more about this.

Maybe a bad unit? New install or been around the block a few times? I've had mine in for four years now. Used it twice yesterday to reinflate all four tires 20 to 40lbs with no issues.

 

I've had it a couple years. I use it more or less all the time to keep my air tank full to run my air horns.

 

Yep. Much more use than mine. I hope you get it all squared away without too much trouble or expense.

 

I'm sure those group dudes behind you were appreciative to not have to wait any longer than they had to. Hate being jocked up and still on the ground.

 

I think the pressure valve is wearing out too.

I basically can air up/down all four tires at the same time and to the same pressure or different pressure f/r. The front is supply with one line and y in the front cross member and the rear has their own line. Used ptc connections for quick setups.

I also have a 3 gallon air tank not shown so airing up is very quick

Basically I didn’t like the twist on tire deflators since pressure won’t match at each corner and this help with airing up so why not. Parts were pretty cheap to

 

It may be a little late, but I have cracked one. Not terrible to replace. It's been a while, but I believe I just called the local arb dealer to source a new tank.

Hey all, just looking for some thoughts. I have a viair constant duty compressor with 2.5g tank currently, but just got lockers and am installing an ARB twin compressor because the single viair takes quite a while to fill 35s/37s. The two compressors will be installed in totally different spots, so I was considering just keeping both hooked up for much quicker air up times.

My only concern is whether the alternator can keep up with both compressors running at the same time at idle RPM's. I can try it anyway, but I just thought I would see if anybody knew what the alternators amp output is at idle. I believe that maximum amp draw for the viair is 28 amps and max draw for the ARB twin is 50 amps, so 78 amps total.

Stock is something like 90-100 amps with the towing package bring about 130 amps. Even if the alternator can't the battery can and the alternator will recharge the battery. What's the CFM rating of the Viair?

 

Yeah I do have the 130 amp alternator, but it only puts out that much current at 1800+ RPM. Not sure how much it puts out at <1000 RPM during idle. You're right though, the battery should be able to keep it going long enough.

I believe the viair is around 2 CFM at 0 psi. Not a tonne, but it has to make some difference, no? I probably won't keep it there forever, but it is kind of cool always having a backup, and some extra speed.

 

OOf that isn't much at a useable PSI. You're right it can't hurt having it as a backup/more flow but it you're worried about Amperage issues it really isn't helping that much compared to the ARB twin 6CFM at 0 and 4.6CFM at 29psi.

 

Very true. I'm stoked to triple my air up speed just with the twin alone haha. Well maybe once I get everything hooked up I will time how long it takes to fill up my tank with just the viair, just the twin, and both together and go from there.
