If they’ve been good to you (dealer) swap truck for new. Squeeze them for extended warranty.
If not so good, have them buy you out and take your $$ elsewhere.

Anyone who agrees to a motor replacement should also ask for “diminished value” compensation from Toyota.

What are the odds of you buying a lemon twice? Was it the exact same truck, with the same options and all? and were they both from the same factory? If I were you I'd move away from the taco and get a tundra

I would never accept a replacement motor, new or otherwise, on a vehicle with just 200 miles since new. There is way too much damage potential during the R&R process... you can bet there will be additional issues as a result. Also, I would not go after additional equipment, that seems greedy and unreasonable. A new truck with a new warranty (maybe ask for an extension at dealership cost because you have “lost faith in the product”) would suffice for me, especially if it were a 2020 model year.

I think this is fair, but also consider that time is worthy money and I can certainly put a price on that just as my employers have. Depending on how much time I spent hassling with this, I would think some throw-ins for his troubles are reasonable. How much is up to his judgement.

I don't think "making it right" means giving you a bunch of freebies. Don't get greedy about it. They should give you a $0 trade for an identical truck, done deal.

As for the extra ass pain the are putting you through, I hope you were given a loaner until it is resolved. That's pretty much fair...

Lawyer up if not happy, read up on your state Lemon Law. Not a perfect world, just too bad you got stuck with a truck with issues.

    Stock and staying that way
I am confused. If it is a lemon law vehicle, as OP insinuates, they buy it back. I am nearly certain they did not use the word lemon.

OTOH, their legal obligation is to fix the truck. I understand OP wanting a new truck, but they are just obliged to fix it.

It sucks, but I don't see OP winning this one.

Sure if you notify Toyota in writing of your “fee schedule “ and they agreed that would be a valid contract but their only obligation is to put you back in the same position prior to sale. Of course it doesn’t hurt to ask away but as a share holder in Toyota I know the answer will be no.

I would get a new truck from a different dealer if you get a new truck. Get GAP insurance and if the truck is not replaced, drive it till is on fire.

I don’t know the extent of your issues personally. However I don’t understand why, unless warranted, anyone would ask for more than what they originally paid for. Kind of like going to a grocery store to get a gallon of milk and have to return it after you get home and realize the milk is spoiled. No grocery store will give you a gallon of milk in return plus a couple boxes of Debbie cakes on top of that. Nope, they give you a gallon of milk.

With all this said, the inconvenience of your time sucks, no doubt! Money you’re out? Probably none since with less than 250 miles you probably were using the free tank of gas that comes with every new vehicle.

Sorry to seem rude about this but I don’t think people should be compensated more than what they pay for unless they’re out something other than time.
