Little update. Got a drop spring hanger for the front which will move the axles 1.5" forward for $75, 5.5" shackles for the front for $75, 12" shock hoops for $50, a pair of RUF springs for $15 bucks from a friend, 2 procomp shocks for $90. So in total a little over 300 bucks for the whole front lift minus extended brake lines.

Also took the bed off and will "try" to start building a flatbed/cage soon.

 

My dad used to do that in the past, but he said eventually they'd break. He's cheap so he said no locker for the truck.

 

Get a mini spool, shouldn't be more than $75 bucks. Try summit.

 

So you're running 5.5" of lift? What was it at at the Orlando meet?

 

No, the stock shackle is 3.5 inches and the shackle won't give much lift because they are at an angle. With the rears up front it's usually 4-5 inches but I'm only going for 2-3. I may have to pull a leaf out or something. The man reason I'm doing it is because I need to push the axle forwards away from the pinch weld.

 

Oh ok. I wasn't sure how shackles were measured. If it was the lift provided or the actual dimension of the shackle.

You also will have a better approach angle. Woo hoo!

 

For the front. I'm kinda SOL right now when it comes to the rear. I was thinking about using 63" chevys but I can't get ahold of any for cheap.

 

I wish I could help. I wouldn't know where to look other than craigslist.

 

At least the front will be done for the next trip. I might run the stock leafs in the rear with longer shackles and 12" shocks for a little while and see how it performs.

Can you do a measurement eye to eye for me? If you don't mind.

 

We measured my brothers leafs off his 83 a while back because he was looking at using my old leafs but if i remember correctly they were too long.

 

Can't believe you have to pay for it even with all those adds on there

 

Yeah I figured it would be but was thinking I could use some of the bottom leafs to add a little stiffness.

 

There is a free one which is what I am but in order to have less adds and more space for pms and pics and such you need to pay.

I agree its a bad idea to put a mosque new the memorial site but its a horrible idea to start buring qurans. Think about all the people who are deployed to iraq and afghanistan. Think that would help there safety? I dont think so.
