Oh I know all about the balance. I started at 220lbs. Got down to 180lbs and have maintained it probably 3-4 months now. Been doing the mostly good meals but a cheat meal more often than during the diet thing. But it’s time to get serious again. One meal won’t make you out of shape but I’d rather waste my cheat meal on something better than work

We decided to take the dogs for a walk today, part of the way through they decided they were going to run me.
They sure love having cool tile floor to plotz on when they get home.

    Excellent BP control.

I dont count macros anymore. But I'm also brutally strict with my diet, so I dont have too. I make the menu for each meal, and as long as I stay within that I'm good to go. In general my total carbs is below 50gs, but if you count fiber is around 100gs. My protein is closer to 200-300gs a day, and I make up the rest with fats (eggs, cheese, dairy, I never trim the fat off meat, and I go through about 3 liter of olive oil a month). 99% of my cooking is stir fry in cast-iron pan.

With respect to your comment on carb-loving-runners, I dont know many people who routinely put up 30-50 in a weekend, so fuck em. Honestly, I don't know anyone that maintains my level of muscle mass and still runs as much as I do.

The reason I hate carbs is that I never want the crash. On a keto/paleo/fat centered diet I can acknowledge that I'm hungry, but I can keep working without issue. Never hangry, ever.

    How are you recovering?

I agree with the crash. Carbs make me tired. I enjoy feeling energized.

Fats are probably my most critical macro. I try to hit that minimum at least. I can get lean and not be hungry.

So I take it you do minimal mid run fueling with items containing sugar? And by that I mean sucrose.

I still have a cough with slight congestion, cough made a pretty good comeback yesterday/today (I assume caused either by the dust of mixing grout or working in all the dust around the air handler, even though I wore a mask for both tasks) but otherwise doing well, making sure to get to bed by 9:45 or so to ensure more than 6 hours of sleep.
I will be working some extra next month though for the PD because we have a big event coming to town so I’ll have to ensure I keep taking my vitamins to keep anything else away.

I don't. I bring trail mix, usually just nuts/seeds/dark chocolate - no fruit.... and dark chocolate by itself. I use nuun tabs and electrolyte replacement stuff.

    Are you purposefully avoiding fructose?

nope. Fructose isn't bad for you. It just so happens that its at ungodly levels in food. Sucrose, which is fruit sugar is a combination of glucose and fructose - we eat this stuff all day long. Its not bad. Its all about moderation.

And covering nuts in dark chocolate. Its best if everyone takes this comment as far out of context as possible. Its time for a laugh fellas.

Hahahaha every day is a good day to laugh! I’m living above my means and fucked myself financially and trying to dig out of my hole but... I got a pizza the other day after mountain biking and only ate a couple slices. There was a homeless dude that had a “hungry anything helps” sign and we (society) often associate homeless with just lazy and wanting money. When I offered this dude my leftover pizza he had the biggest smile go across his face. And that moment made me remember that no matter what, somebody has it worse and it could always be worse. So just breeath and appreciate the life you have.

Because my wife had a gay friend who explained it to her about how good taking it up the butt feels and that’s what convinced her to try it and she realized she loved it sooooooo gay men are my homies for life

And to elaborate on this a bit because I think I appreciate your question more - its a carb thing. Sugar is the simplest form of carbs, so I avoid fruits because of the carbs.

    hahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Not what I was getting at, but I'll take it. heeheehee. I was just hoping people would immaturely run with the nuts or chocolate bit for entertainment purposes. No particular direction in mind.

I assume you are happily married then?
