Every time it's happened to me, I'm slowly rolling up ton a 4 way stop, then I'm taken back that there's a car there. Add in the fact my head is basically sitting on the roof because its so low which makes the mirror and TSS box take up a large portion of the windshield. I'd have to have a rubber neck to see everything out of this truck.

I appreciate it's safer, but anyone saying there's no blind spots is either A. really short or B. Not being truthful about how hard it is to see out of these trucks compared to other vehicles.

Unfortunately it's not a perfect world, so just deal with it and be thankful you have such a nice truck in spite of this issue.

People don't think a-pillar air bags be like that but they do. It's just a product of the environment. This is how cars and trucks will be for the rest of our time on this planet. There is nothing me, or you, can do about it.

The grab handle is in a bad place. If the passenger holds on the driver can't use the mirror or see out the window. The handle should be over the door.

If the passenger has to hold the O'shit handle nobody should be worried about what's to the side or in the mirror.

Have you ever tried to hold that handle while going down the road? It's not comfortable because it was meant to aid in getting in the truck not holding while going down the highway
Seriously, doesn't the 3rd gens have more important problems to complain about? Like the trans shifting

True that. I lived with mine for 9 years. They are so big, people put speakers into them.

Bullshit. My wife's CRV has a big ol blind spot. My Tundra has a bigger ol blind spot. Go back to the '70's for a smaller one.

All new vehicles have huge A-Pillars to house air-bags and for roof crush testing. You gotta deal with it, but I agree, it’s not ideal for visibility.

In addition to air bags in there, the A-Pillar needs to survive this:

At USPS, we called it the Letter Carrier Head Bob. Mirrors block everything. Has the OP tried sitting on a phone book to see over the mirrors?

Why doesn't the OP take a photo from where the drivers eyes would be? The photo presented, is in the middle of the cab, over the dash. Seems like the issue is being exaggerated.

All that aside, it's a medium sized A pillar, but for good reasons and certainly not worth posting about... IMHO.
