Yeah, that settles it, I'd rather feel like I'm in my patrol car at work than searing my retinas. I swear I must have been a moth in another life to keep staring directly at the ridiculously bright lights. :D

Both the map and dome lights behave together
so when I go to turn the Maps on while the rocker is set to ‘Door’ or ‘On’, the map light gets brighter when I push the light in, but it never turns off by pushing the map light in.

The only time the light goes off is when the map light rocker switch is set to ‘off’.

OK ... I mentioned the issue because others have had maps stuck in the "ON" position and were able to resolve once they clicked the map button.

It is my understanding that the Dome/Map circuit is ground controlled/switched which is what allows the PWM fade out to work. You issue sounds like there is a "leak", for lack of a better term, to ground someplace in the grouped circuit. This would allow "OFF" to work properly as well as the always partially (dimmer than "normal") on at all times, thus getting brighter when pushed "ON" as I believe mine are the same level of bright no mater which option switched them "ON".

My best suggestion is: You may have already done some or all of this. Feel free to throw this out with any other rubbish.
    1. pull the overhead console down
    2. open the dome
    3. remove all bulbs
    4. close doors
    5. one at a time add back a bulb
    6. test all functions
      • Passes - do another
      • Fails - Remove that bulb
        • try bulb in different location
        • test
          • Pass - Move to next bulb
          • Fail - try other bulb in original location

This should help determine which portion is the offender. On the other hand if this does not find/resolve the problem, it is beyond me and hopefully someone else can offer a better diagnostic or solution.

    Good luck!!

This was the EXACT words that came out of the wife's mouth after seeing them for the first time a few weeks back!!!

Since my first and last visit to THE red light district was 15+ years ago (day trip from Cologne, Germany) she has started dropping references to the details she knows about!!! I keep saying she'll have to come with me for the next visit. She'll lay off the reference for a few days.

Hopefully with his new manufacturing processes, he'll have plenty to go around when they launch, like with the latest drop which managed to stay in stock for 24+ hours, if I remember correctly.

Excuse me if this has already been asked, but will these ever be offered in grey housing for us SR5 owners? The black housing on grey headliner is the only thing keeping me from jumping on these ha. Just a little OCD.

You can spray paint the black housing. The leds snap off

My right side is losing it...last row is flickering.
Could it be a connection issue?

@MESO, does the 3rd Gen dome light also fit 2nd Gens? It looks like it fits within my 2nd Gen dome light bezel. I want some for my 2008, but they're not on your site anymore

Any update on the red and white dome light? I need that in my life just like the rest of us.
