From what I have seen, the 2020 head unit would be very expensive. Around 4k expensive. It's really unknown if it's a direct swap too. It might be better to just go aftermarket.

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
Another question... Have the 2020s hit the dealers yet? I might need to make a lunchtime trek over to one to see what's worth pillaging adapting to my '17.

Good for you Bud. I'm sure he'd think mine is tacky as well but it suits me, which of course is all that really matters!

What are the major complaints about the 3rd Gen trucks? What to be concerned with if buying a 2016 or 2017 ? Just wondering what recalls or issues they have had. Thanks for any and all input. Seriously looking for another truck.

Maybe! Has been a rough year physically. Didn't have a foot in the hole but I could smell the fresh dug dirt.

I was married for 10 years. That is the reason I am broke. Lol. Took 11 more years to find the love of my life.

Hmm? Major complaints? Don't know if I'd call them major. 3 things I didn't like and one complaint.

    (1) The lack of a real rear bumper like the one I had on my 2nd Gen. About a $900 fix I haven't done yet.

    (2) The type and location of the oil filter. 2nd Gen. filter was topside in the engine compartment and was spin-on vs underneath and a paper cartridge. Living with it although there is a solution albeit somewhat pricey.

    (3) Lack of the accessory headrail. A $50 fix.

    Complaint?
Acceleration surge in 2nd gear and trying to get the dealership to perform the TSB to correct the problem.

Those are / were my only concerns. Still haven't got them to do the TSB......., working on it!

    Hope this helps.

True, ive seen a few videos of aftermarket headunits with android auto/carplay, it seems very complex to get it to work with tacomas. thats why i was hoping it would be a direct replacement. I wish they were able to just send a update! haha

Brakes. I seem to be in the minority, but I thought the brakes, as they come from the factory, sucked golf balls through a garden hose. It's not just our Tacos. I got a 2019 Highlander as a loaner once, same thing.

Spent $$$ replacing the rear drums with discs, replacing the rotors and calipers on the fronts, and putting SS clad teflon lines all around. Muuuuuch better.

<edit> Oh yeah, and a new master cylinder and a reservoir for the clutch.

I like the after better, that's actually pretty tight. I have a black truck and have been doing red accents. Red pops pretty good on black. BTW, what is "Wizgear" exactly?
