    Hey All,

    I’ve searched and searched.

I have a 15 TRD Sport with SC. I believe it was dealer installed prior to it going home with its first owner. When the dealer installs this kit as “factory”, what is the procedure?
Is there a way to tell if it has the SC map?
Pros and cons to dealer installed?

    Thanks

back in the day when TRD superchargers could be bought... you could have a dealer install the supercharger and retain factory warranty.... I think @snowsk8air2 got his truck with 17 miles on it brand new with a supercharger from the factory

That’s what mine is - “factory”. Aka Dealer installed before sale.

Just wondering what protocol was for that.

Yep, 17 miles on the odo with the sc installed when I bought it. Had to fudge a little paperwork because I was buying out of state. Technically I was supposed to buy, drive off the lot, then come back to install.

I thought the TRD Supercharger was discontinued by 2015?

it def would have the TRD tune on it. That is a given. Its basically a bolt on kit so having the dealer do it like other said retained the toyota warranty etc.

what else are you looking for?

You could go to Toyota.com/owners and sign up.
Then enter your VIN and look at the “Factory” and “Port” installed options.

My truck has the following -

CF Carpet Floor mats (4pcs) & Door Sills (-Port Install-)
FE 50 State Emissions (-Factory Install-)
OC TRD Off Road Package. (-Factory Install-)
TO V6 Tow Package (-Factory Install-)
    R3 Tube Steps (-Factory Install-)

Im going to take a guess here and say “Port” is a Dealer Added option?
“Factory” is an Add-on when built at the factory?
I’m making this assumption based on the fact, I can’t see the dealer adding the 50 States Emissions?
But then again, I’ve been wrong before.

It won't run right if you don't have the TRD tune on it, so it definitely has the tune.

I think it was more of it was not available in TRD trim by then. They either did it in 2014 or they had extra stock. My buddy had his installed in 2015 after he bought his 2015 but it was right around then when it was shut down. Now its Magnuson which made the previous TRD one so essentially the same thing with a different logo.

How are you liking the SC so far @81Taco ? Mine is sitting in the living room needs to get installed.

Yes, but the dealer or buyer could have sourced a leftover kit.

@81Taco you have been running 91 octane fuel, right? :)
