I have the catless tubes installed. Unfortunately I have a 3" MBRP catback exhaust installed which is noisy already so I can't attest as to the sound of the dump tubes alone. The dump tubes made the already deep rumble of the MBRP a little more throaty is all. It sounds very nice and heavy acceleration sounds pretty damn cool too, especially under freeway passes for the echo.

As far as HP and torque, I'm inclined to trust OVTune's graphs. Can I feel it? I *think* so, but the mind is prone to lend a helping hand to that which we wish were true.

They did cause a CEL. Im not worried about it because that is an issue OVTune can eventually remedy.

All said, I definitely like them

I know it’s still early to make an assessment, but wanted to offer INITIAL feedback on a total of 3 drive cycles (15 miles each)

Misfires: 3-5 on each drive cycle. This is relatively low among all tune variants since Jan ‘18. However, on past tunes (can’t remember which) it started with low misfires and then crept up.

Shifting: Although it still shifts to 4th earlier than I prefer, it seems to have the power to make it through the lower RPM range without as much of a struggle (bog) as base OLE non GL. Maybe that’s because this is a performance tune. Even with this available power, I’d still like to see it shift later.

Tip In: Based on my driving conditions (ice and snow for 4 months out of the year), it’s more aggressive than I prefer. If it wasn’t for these conditions, I wouldn’t mind at all.

    Throttle Response (down shifting): Good

    MPG: Best yet

In summary: All things considered, this is the best tune yet, but would like to see further refinement.

Will follow up after clocking more miles with feedback and logs.

This right here is exactly why I kept 1.05 tune on my truck as the Base variety. Roads to the mtn for winter fun are always icy as all hell where I’m at and with that aggressive tip in the tires would release all too easily for me. Summertime in the desert, sure why the hell not

Is it even possible to program a tune to be aggressive on dry surfaces, but not so on wet stuff...?

I don't have an "official report" yet for zendesk, I'll send it on Sunday, after I drive a couple hundred and go up to 6700 ft. elevation.

However, those are my initial impressions with the 04B31 4.88 beta.

2019 TRD OR DCLB, 255/85/16, 2" lift, 4.88 and sliders.

I never tried a performance tune, I've only been on 1.05 91 base.

The 2.0 beta is daaahm sporty... in a good way. So far, absolutely no problems with it after 20 miles. I revved up the engine 5-6 times, real high in 2nd and 3rd. Never had any misfires or any unusual strange behavior whatsoever.

Tip in is on the verge of being a little too much, but it's usable. I assume the beta is geared more towards performance than base, so it should be ok. I will run base anyway, for the MPG. Speaking of MPGs, I have no idea so far. I sold my camper shell on the weekend and I lost some, so now it's hard to tell where I am compared to the past. How much does the tune affect it, and how much the loss of the shell...?

I'll know more on Sunday after the trip to the mountains, but all in all, I like it. It definitely drives like a different vehicle.

I'm using Torque Pro, but I'm just learning how to use it... so, take it with a grain of salt. I just wanted to share my first impression and was excited that there seems to be no adverse effectc to the tune (like some have reported). The fact that it's sporty now is an added bonus.

The final version of 2.0 may include the ability to switch between tune versions on a whim -- possibly using the cruise control stick. Mat is still working on all of that, though, so only he could tell you the status.

How’s the MPG on this new beta? I’ve got a 2k mile trip and 93 (no 91 here) is about 50 cents more a a gallon. Debating if it’s worth it to switch or wait for 87 Beta.

On a trip, why not just use 87? I fee like that’s the best use for a base tune, eco/fuel savings. Not like you’re going to be doing performance oriented driving on a 2k mi trip.

    Because it’s a 91 octane tune only

I have seen about a 3+ mpg pop on this latest beta. It has that performance punch so you get up to speed quickly with no lugging and then you get out of the throttle and mpg's climb fast. Less than 100 miles so far but very pleased. No 91 here either so i mixed 89 and 93 half and half. Saves a little bit (not much!).

Yah, but the 91 octane tunes do drive noticeably better with more power and response especially for trucks beyond stock. I use the 87 base tunes most often, but every time I load up a 91 tune (with the correct fuel) it is quite enjoyable to drive

I'd say it's in between 1.05 perf and base but leaning a bit more aggressive than halfway. It did get my attention but I find it much easier to modulate with some skinny pedal practice. I can see how it could break traction on snow or ice but has not been a problem at all on wet roads.
I'm loving it! Will submit to zendesk after some more miles.
