Tire recommendations

I have a 2009 Tacoma TRD Sport. I use it to go camping and next summer will be taking it on the beach to do fishing. I am looking for a good set of all terrain tires. I am in Jersey so we get everything weather wise also.

 

Round ones, but seriously there are a million threads on here about tires. Did you search or do any research? Simple Google search bright this up.

Aasuming your suspenssion is mostly stock, Cooper AT3s....either load range.

Done.

 

Couldnt get rid of my AT3's fast enough after 15k miles on them... turned into almost as bad as the stock rugged fails in wet / snow / ice.

 

Glad someone said it, total garbage.

 

And mine were the AT3 LT265/75R16 Load range c.... with more tread depth than a P or SL rated. Since then they have redone the tread design slightly and have now AT3 4s, AT3 LT and AT3 LTX or some shit... either way... wouldnt touch em with a 10 foot pole.

I went 265 75 16, I've been to the beach a few times and had zero issues. They are quiet and smooth. Price was reasonable and weight was not crazy, I just did SL rating, I don't do any heavy off roading, just lighter stuff

pick one of those four options and you will be well served for roughly 50k miles, regular tire balance and rotation is highly recommended

I had a set on my BMW X3 and they were the best tires I have ever owned by far. They do make truck tires and I wonder if anyone had any experience with them on a Tacoma?

 

You better think long and hard about buying a set of all terrains. If you dont buy the correct ones , you will end up with crappier gas mileage and a shitty loud ride.

How many miles you got on them?

 

Somewhere around 15k miles (don't have my maintenance log with me)...they still look dang near brand new as well...the load E treads wear much better that the others, plus a tougher side wall helps in Rocky areas.

 

Load range C and E have same rubber compounds... just different (more ply) carcas.

When you get to 25k ish miles... come back with a report. Ill bet your full length tread block siping is gone by then which will cause a DRAMATIC decrease in wet / snow / ice performance... which will also cause tread block feathering and much increased noise.

Loved the tire up to the 15-20k mile mark... after that NOPE.

 

+1 on the Falken wildpeak at3 I have a few thousand miles so far, live in Florida, so surf, beach, fish, mud, trails, everything but snow lol. Very happy, and so far they are quiet as well.
