Height Question

I found a 2008 Tacoma that I really want to buy, 6 inch lift, and very clean. My question is I'm 6'5 and worried about room. anyone else on here my size and let me know if they are uncomfortable? I've always had a full size pickup but just don't need anymore. Love the way they look! Hope you guys can help! THanks!!

 

Welcome aboard.............I am 6' and have to push the seat forward about 3 or 4 positions to be right to work clutch properly. I could see someone 6'5" having enough leg room. Go do a test drive at a dealership would be the best way to find out and fuck with the salesman by not buying one from him.

 

Welcome to the site!! Is it a regular cab or a double cab? I am 6'3" and have a doublecab, for me there is plenty of room. Test drive the hell out of it, there are some who go from a full size to the Tacoma and are never happy. Also if you are coming from a fullsize go into it with realistic expectations on the power differences from the V8. Good luck with your purchase.

 

Not at a car dealership actually. A local guy thats a coworkers buddy. gonna give me a smokin deal on it. 2008 Double Cab 6" Lift, Brand new tires, 47k miles, and right around the 20-22k range is where he's thinking. I can't wait to do mods to this bad boy!

 

Drive it like your stole it and then see how you feel. Should be plenty of room for you though.

 

What I meant was go drive the same model at a dealership to see if the one you want will have enuff room.

 

+1 on the test drive. Good idea to just go test drive some and see how you measure up. I once had this infactuation with Jeeps and wanted one so bad, and when i went to test drive it I absolutely hated it. Not that your going to hate the tacoma, but it is better to know first. Hell the person that won't fit would be the one sitting directly behind your tall ass.

 

heres my story, I had a 2006 chevy duramax, and loved the power. Now i drive a 2008 volvo xc90 with the V8 as well. I hate my suv, bought it thinking I needed something more professional... I do like having a little power when I need it, but I'm not a hot rod racer type. I mainly like to focus on making my vehicles look good, and seems to be a lot you can do to these? worst case is i buy a supercharger?

im 6'4" and i fit decently. Actually i dont think i even have the seat all the way back.

 

im 6'2 in a extended cab 1st gen and it works fine for me

if you look interested a lot of dealerships will even let you drive it home and keep it for a day

they say when you wake up in the morning and see it in your driveway is like a major selling point or something

 

I'm 6-4 in a '06 DC. I have enough legroom and I do not have the seat all the way back. My only complaint is the rearview mirror. It is right in my line of sight and blocks my field of vision at times. I find myself ducking a bit to see to the front-right. But I can live with it. Go drive one. BTW this is my 1st post..WOOHOO!

 

I used to sell cars, so I know the dealership drill... if you guys ever have any questions about dealer scams let me know! although the dealership i worked at was different and very laid back, but still know a few tricks!

 

I am about 6 foot. Going from an F150 supercrew down to a Tacoma double cab has some frustration. Loved the look of the truck. I did test drive and didn't immediately notice but after owning a few days I realized I have to actually duck my head getting in and out. And definitely only have kids and short women in back seat (no foot room) or I will be moving my seat way forward to a pretty uncomfortable position. Oh, and the foot room sucks. Thank goodness I don't have a clutch. Can't see how they could get one more pedal in there. My foot feels like it is constantly in contact with gas/brake at the same time.
To me this is a two person truck. Gear, groceries, dogs, infants, and kids in the back seat only.

I have to duck everywhere i go, some doors, showers, all counter tops are about 5" too short for me, especially takin a you know what! I'm going to the dealership to drive some tomorrow to see what i think! upgrades seem fairly simple on these guys. please correct if im wrong!

 

Someone on here somewhere flipped the rear view mirror upside down to get it out of the way but not if you have a back up camera I would think. I did it but didn't like the way it looked trying to see out becasue of the different shape being upside down. Give it a shot if you have no camera in the mirror.
