Last year I switched to wildpeak at3w's. I live at about 2700' but drive up to 6000 frequently. Never an issue in the snow and only a few times slipping a bit on ice.

They tried that here. I think the operators were to rough on them. And management will not hold them responsible.

Do you have to reduce cycle times when your loader has rock chains?

I have I-Pike RW11s which have served me quite well on my 2G and 3G. That being said, I did still need 4WD when the roads turned mushy, but with 4WD engaged the truck went through everything.

I'm going to look into the Blizzak and now those Grabbers as well. I might price out the Nokians to see how they fall, too. I'll have to see what I can get in P rated tires in 265/70-17 for my FJ steel wheels.

They work well as all terrains but might be a bit soft for Florida summers.

Yea. These are good if you run one tire year round but they can’t compete with dedicated winter tires.

Sounds awfully familiar. I was going to ask if you and I work for the same company, but then I noticed we don't have properties in Arkansas.

To rough on the tires? Hmm sounds like those loader tires are being blown through do to operator error. Out of curiosity what size of loader are these on? We run some large loaders here for work and I've never seen a 35,000 dollar tire on one

Just bought a gently used set of those to use on the truck this winter. My first set of Hankook winters, I normally use Blizzak or Nokian. To be fair, pretty much every tire does poorly in slush. I had borrowed Dad's Tacoma last year to go watch a rally race in the U.P. and it has Hankook Dynapro AT tires. It snowed the 2nd day and I was not impressed. Going full winters on my new truck.

I live in the sierra’s and commute to Reno. I have Firestone winterforce studded tires for the winter season and they have been great other than they are kind of noisy.

Last year I bought a good, used set of 2nd Gen Tacoma steel wheels from Craigslist and mounted some skinny Blizzaks. Great tires so far and I Fluid Filmed the rims so they’re still looking good too.

I run grabber LT Arctics as well. All I have to say is put some weight in the bed too, or the ass end likes to wander.

These trucks have terrible problems following full size ruts, as our width is a bit less we have to fight across them.

I've been told that the chains wear on the tires almost as much as the rocks themselves.

I don't service the loaders myself (I'm an electrician). But I do work around the mechanics. They may be "pulling my leg" on the price (or management). But I'm sure that they are expensive.

Once again "I've been told" that our loaders are one size smaller than the largest loaders available. I have pictures of me standing in the bucket. And I can't reach the top. I wish I could post pics. But no cameras allowed on the property. I get paid to well to risk my job.

Those are good in snow, i had them. But you cant compare them to actual winter tires.

I see very little snow around here. But I have seen 6" to 8" before. I didn't have any difficulty with the Duratracs. I would think that the aggressive tread design would be better in deep snow than tires that look more suited for highway driving. And the Duratracs would probably really be aggress if the studs where applied? But IDK because I'm just a southerner.

I would say they are better in really deep snow. I had them on wet snow and they sucked, lugs are too far apart.

If you live somewhere in the woods where there is a shit ton of snow , duratracs are better for really deep stuff. But if you drive around the city in winter time, actual winter tires would be better. Most winter tires can be studded as well. Just my .02

Edit: TOYO has winter tires that have walnut shells in the compound. Amazing tire.
