yea, really fucking lame. I guess the background check they go through when buying a gun isnt good enough...you have to have a license to buy a gun...then another license to carry it.

i have to have one of them to buy a long gun, or a handgun. Im not sure if you need one to buy a shotgun, but I kno its definately needed for buying a rifle or black powder.

Nah, the illinazi government doesn't make you worry about getting a license to carry, they simply make that illegal entirely.

(There is no concealed carry in either Illinois or Wisconsin at all.)

In NJ you need the ID card to buy a long gun (rifles, shotguns) and a special permit for EACH pistol you want to buy. Yup you need to go to the police station, and apply for each and every pistol you want to buy, then wait 2 months, and its valid for 3 months then expires.

let me explain if he is from IL.. its a stupid card with your picture on it that expires every five years or so cost 5 or ten bucks I cant remeber. you have to have it to buy shells and you have to present it at the checkout. to buy guns they register them to your number so they can track them. oh and if you get caught out with your guns and no card its not good... just another way for the state to fuk us out of money!!

yup, cant purchase a gun or ammo without a foid card. cant shoot one and cant legally own any firearm in IL without it. You can be a guest at a range with someone that has a foid card at least. The city had a hand gun ban for a long time, but I think that got over turned this year. I also think the price went up to like 40 bucks from what ive heard. never got around to getting my foid card cause its such a hassle to take 2 pictures and send it in with a bunch of paper work and money.

Nasty stupid business, the foid card. What sucks is that since I live right on the border and work in Indiana (Gary, mostly), I have a non-resident ccw for Indiana but at the border I'm supposed to pull over and pack it away according to Illinois' draconian laws before entering the state. My taxes can't even buy my fredom to protect myself and my family. Next house I purchase is going to definetely be 11 miles to the East!
