Considering the deals that have been made over the last couple months and the 2020 Tacomas are being assembled as we chat on this forum, I think you can do slightly better.

A $5k-6k discount is the sweet spot, in my opinion. With only a second offer in hand, you’re a mere $184 from a $5k discount. I think you can easily get a $5,500-$6,000 discount by getting a competitive bid from another nearby dealer—just reach out, let them know you’re a serious buyer ready to purchase (let’s say, by the weekend), forward the internet sales rep/manager your current offer and ask if they can do any better.

You’re in prime position to get a great deal! Keep us posted.

Does anyone recommend a good salesman/dealer in the Houston, TX area to get a good deal on a 2019 TRD OR 4x4? Thanks!

I got mine at Precision over in Tucson. It was a drive, but it was worth it. I was in and out of that dealership in less than 2 hours. Camelback didn't have anything on the lot that I was interested in and the other dealerships around the valley were either just being dicks or didn't want to deal over email. There's one dealership here in the valley that doesn't even give you a breakdown of their pricing because it's against their "policy". All he kept doing was trying to get me into the dealership to "make sure it was the truck I wanted". I told him several times that I have already test driven all the different Tacomas and I knew exactly what I wanted. He still wouldn't give me a breakdown on pricing and just told me to come in. I didn't want to play his game.

I got a 4x4. Need something to take me way out in the desert for some nice and relaxing shooting far away from the crazies. :)

Thanks for the tips. I guess now I need to decide if I really am a serious buyer. ha Still torn between a 2019 deal or waiting for a 2020 after they are out a while.

Before TTL. Had a trade as well so the tax credit took half off the tax.

Does $5-6k include rebates and what MSRP? Getting $6k off $39,280 MSRP is over 15% which is better than the 10% tops I've seen.

I have a 19, TRDOR SB, Manual, with Premium/Tech Package. My MSRP is 39300+change. The 20 of the same config with Premium Package (Combine Premium/Tech 19) is $41,330. $2K more for power seats, LED lights, and Carplay/AndroidAuto. Seem like a no brainer. Get the 19! And save up to $7K! min $5K discount+ 2K difference from 19>20.

I’m happy with it. I think there was maybe 1000 to go. But all good.

Edit: another dealer contacted me asked what my otd was said they can make me very happy. I’ve got a deposit on this one, can the dealer keep my deposit if they’re having a driver drive the vehicle down to they’re lot? I’d hate to reneg, but this other guy coming in sounds motivated to beat that price and is very interested in my 99 Tacoma. If I end up saving 1-2k, I’d have to take that.

I never negotiated in terms of rebates, dealer cash, etc. when I got my $5,346 discount. I left that accounting up to the dealership. It would have been nice to get the top shelf $6k discount, but I got impatient and was ready for a new Tacoma.

So interesting you're in that situation,as I was just recently in the same. You should ALWAYS negotiate for what you want. Let the dealers scrap it out. If someone else can get you a better deal,go there..or tell your current dealer that another site is willing to do more for you. No shame in that! Go where the discounts are the most. At the end of the day it's your money and your truck. Don't settle.

Edit: Small world..just realized where you went. Who did you speak with?! I'm talking to Cody right now...they are EXTREMELY motivated and eager to get your business. If I didn't work at Priority Toyota in Chesapeake,I would of went there. Actually just spoke to Cody today too lol

If you can get an additional $1-2k off by going to another dealer, I’d be hard pressed to tell you not to.

I should have left eastern NC and traveled to Tidewater VA to get a deal! I didn’t even think to drive up there. On top of that, my sister lives in Suffolk.

Well as long as you got a good deal where you're at,that's all that matters!! I know Pearson Toyota is crazy with what they will do to get your business. Priority just found the Cav Blue 19' that I wanted,so I'm going with them. But I know Pearson kept lowering the MSRP, went up on my trade in, willing to give me more discounts etc to try and make sure I didn't leave there without a deal. He told me they REALLY need to sell their current lot before the 20's come in lol
