My mention of checking the t-stat when I replace the fan clutch is that there is a known orientation for the V6 that some claim that if oriented incorrectly, causes the engine to run hotter. It's just a small hole and doesn't make sense to me why it would affect it so much. I'm not planning on putting in a cooler t-stat right now. Maybe when I get a supercharger.

That's exactly how a fan clutch is suppose to work. It take a minute for the fluid to get to temperature.

Same here with my Denso replacement rad. I rarely see anything over 200. Even fully loaded down with gear climbing up the grades to Stanislaus.

If this one fails, I'm headed back to OEM.

The problem, aside from the $hitty quality control of the product, is that Champion has several escape clauses on their website:
    1. "The vehicle is used for commercial or fleet, governmental, off-road or racing applications."
    2. "1 year warranty from time of delivery"
    3. "...proper coolant and distilled water mixture and proof of that mixture.

To me, its not worth my time, $ and serenity of pursuing legal action against Champion.
That is not to say that I wouldn't join a class action or group if someone were to start one.
I am confident that small claims or the next level up, would agree that Champion is knowningly selling a defective product.
    That "reasonable doubt" clause...

    Another curious thing:
Why is Champions warranty page so legalese tight? Sued before???

    FYI
In test fitting the smittybilt gen 3 XRC: It won't fit in my allpro baja bumper without some modifications to the detachable armor. Or just removing it. Even then the top crossbars on it make contact with the bumper (which will rub through my powdercoat eventually I would guess).

I will also be relocating the contactor box since I would otherwise have to take a big chunk out of my grill.

My new radiators temperature is 175-180 :) with the 170 T stat.
It’s actually strange to see those numbers for me.

My engine and supercharger do NOT like heat (195) and you can definitely feel the difference with the lower temperature stat.

I'm in the same situation with the TG /Allpro Baja. I was initially thinking going with the Gen 1 steel for 300$. I might do that if the Gen 3 is bigger due to the new furniture they put on it. Do you know if the previous gen will work?

Same here. Heat kills performance, even in boost it’s just flat when it’s hot outside and the Heaton is pumping a shitload more heat in.

Spraying water has helped. I’m not spraying much. It cuts on at 4psi and I have the Full setting on 25PSI with the smallest Devils Own nozzle.

Im planning on buying a used lower intake manifold and tapping it for a AIT sensor. That way I can tune the heat out and avoid diminishing returns by spraying too much. The less I have to spray the better I feel about it.

Make sure you use distilled water because a number 1 nozzle will plug up easy with minerals,
if I didn’t mention it to you already

Not sure about different gens of the smittbilt. My guess is they would fit with more clearance. I wanna make the gen3 work cause I like it and the features it has. Just a bummer with that mods i'm gonna have to do in order to get it to work with my setup.

I think I would have to relocate the contactor box whether it be a gen 1,2, or 3, but I would guess that the motor and other components are prob just bigger in the gen 3 which contribute to why it's such a tight fit.

Currently i'm thinking i'll put some pieces of rubber between the parts that touch on the draw bar and front of the bumper, and then possibly take a dremel to the "detachable armor" to the parts that contact in order to make them work.

Still haven't decided a place to relocate the contactor box to.

Got a key fob transmitter, previous owner didn’t have one. It’s so nice to be able to unlock/lock the doors without the key now.
