Who’s fixed their own door sill rust?

just noticed my truck has a few tiny spots on the spot welds underneath the weather stripping.. I’ll try and post a picture later. I’d like to get on this before it gets worse. Anyone do this themselves? I was thinking about just taking the rust off than paint it with some white paint and put the clear vinyl on there and seal it up. Any help would be great thanks!

 

My truck is a 16 just bought it certified pre owned. So I’m not sure how warranty would work with it as far as that end of it anyway. I decided the other night just to look around and see if my truck had the issue and sure enough it’s starting. Being in pa I see plenty of rust so I wanna get on this early. I’ll call my dealer (not the one I purchased from) today and see what they tell me!

Pretty sure the factory warranty is 5 years 60k on corrosion.

 

Yep just took these today! Maybe I’m just being crazy. I just don’t think a 2016 truck should have this starting already..
