I'd imagine his settlement with the NFL included that he never plays again, which is why you don't hear from him about how he wants to anymore. So not sure why every time a QB sneezes someone has to bring him up as a replacement.

I dunno. The last I read, he was still available to play and was working out to keep in shape. I just think he's a very last resort kind of pick.

I have the opinion that he is just a politician at this point and discussion of him should be banned.

That’s just like, your opinion, man.

Kaep hasn’t played for years, but there’s no way he’s any worse than the bum squad that’s hitting the field for a lot of these teams. He’s actually won games, to include enough playoff games in a row to go to a SB! All these bums can’t string two in a row.

He won games in the past, but by the end of his career, he was no better than "these bums" are. 49ers had a very lackluster few years with him at the helm. 8-8, 2-6, 1-10 are his last 3 years playing. Those aren't good stats.

8-8 is average. 2-6 and 1-10 are years with miserable one-year coaching staffs that they're still rebuilding from. Shanahan is 10-22 so far.. is that Kaep's fault too?

Currently, the QB situation in SF hasn't been great. But to call out something else that is bad to say something that is bad wasn't "as bad" is meaningless. SF hasn't been good for over half a decade. Currently, it isn't the fault of Kaep, but during his time there, it is at least partially his fault, and his record for his last few years playing is dismal.

Pretending like any coach past Harbaugh was good, regardless of team, is a disaster. The teams have all been terrible since he left, and that's regardless of talent. Look at the Browns, for example. They're a roster loaded with talent, but terrible coaching has held them back.

Kaep's QB stats actually aren't bad for the games he played in his last three years. His completion rate was around 60%, his TD-INT ratio is favorable, and he put up good yards. It wasn't him, unless he played on a miserable defense.

I never said anything about them being good, or even better since Kaep left. You said it yourself, his stats "weren't bad" but I wouldn't' call them amazing either. He was a good QB once, and OK even before his was outed, but for being out of the game for almost as many years as he played doesn't look good for him. Personally, I don't care if a team picks him up. If he is good, then I'll let it be all the coaches fault at SF. If he sucks, then it will be known that it really had to do with him. I just hope he doesn't go to any team I root for, because for what I see of his play, it wouldn't be a winning move.

I am fully aware the coach has a role in winning, but I hold the QB to a higher level than other players on the team. They are the one that has to make the plays and adjust when something isn't working. There are QBs out there that do amazing with bad coaching, QBs that are OK, and QBs that fail under bad coaching. From what I see of Kaep, I wouldn't trust him on a team I like. But I would be perfectly happy seeing him picked up, mostly because I would really like to see if he has it, or if he flops again.

Look his numbers up before you argue any further points. His numbers were relatively consistent per games played, but his coaching staff and defenses were not. You arguing anything further past this point is just you arguing to argue that you don't like him.

The point is - he made it to a Super Bowl and had a down year the following year, which nearly happens across the board unless you're the Patriots. After that, he had two coaching changes and was made a pariah for the league. His numbers were still very good for a starter, but his defense gave up the farm every game. Everyone wants to hate on him because of the news, but maybe it was the rest of the team that sucked and you all got hit with smoke and mirrors. If you're really going to tell me you think Kaepernick couldn't be better than half the second or third string QBs that are flat out miserable, then you're not watching the same NFL that the rest of us are watching, or ANY sports analyst.

    Some really cool shit
As a 49er fan my entire life I’ll say it, after the Super Bowl he sucked. I watched every game. His head wasn’t in the game. And defenses figured him out. Of course, that wasn’t difficult because he couldn’t read the defense, and most times, he just ran, even though receivers were open. Good riddance.

Except I don't care and have never mentioned the news. IMO, he and anyone else can say whatever they want. I don't watch football for any of their opinions on something and I change away no matter which side is being talked about. I watch because I like the sport. Claiming an argument is about something that hasn't been said is "arguing for the sake of arguing". I also never said his stats were bad, and even said they were ok. But the fact is, for his last 3 years in SF, SF did not have a winning season. That is the only thing I stated. I even said I would be perfectly happy to see him back in the game, just not for a team I root for. Why, because I do not think he is not a good as people who want to defend him think he is. He is not bad, better than a lot of the QBs out there maybe, but I personally would expect him to have an at best average year - that is why I don't want him on any team I root for, nothing more. Maybe he would get back in an prove me wrong, maybe he would get back in and prove you wrong - I'm willing to see that happen and have not once said I don't want him to ever play again. Again, I just don't want it happening on a team I like. Yes, he made a Super Bowl. So did Eli on the Giants (more than Kaep), who by my understanding is being replaced as a starter. Why, because he is not playing good and the Giants have had losing seasons. I wouldn't want Eli on a team I root for at this point either, but by the "past achievements" argument he is better than Kaep (which honestly, I question he ever was).

So if you want to keep trying to make what I'm saying something other than what I've actually said, feel free.

I didn't mean to start a riot over Kaep. I just said he may get a job. I don't like the guy either.
