No you're tinted windows will not prevent a police radar from coming in or going out of your vehicle.

I don't understand this question. Police radar is doppler radar, unless the officer is using lidar or other laser radar, and it is not affected by tint. If your asking if window tint will affect your detectors ability to pick up a police radar signal, I would say no, but then again why do you have tint on your windshield?

unless it's metallic tint, it will only effect the visible spectrum.

why you say that? mine has always been able to pick them up in enough time for me to get back down.

you werent going fast enough to warrant that officer stopping you

with the instant-on...i can confirm your speed twice before the typical radar detector starts beeping

tint doesn't affect radar and laser...they point and shoot the radar and laser usually against the plates since its metal and can get a quicker reading from that...

IMHO the best Radar/Laser detector is the Valentine 1...

here's a test to prove that the V1 (<-click for link)is the best bang for its buck on the market...

Instant on isn't that new and if you're traveling where there's not much traffic, by the time that thing beeps, the police officer already has you. You may just have been lucky enough to pick-up the bursts when they're targeting another car ahead of you, or they're not using instant on.

    Pretty much stock
You can keep the radar unit on "hold" where it isn't sending out a signal....when you see a car you want to get a speed on, you can take it off hold by the remote, Giving you and instant speed on the car.

Being that the radar unit wasn't sending out a signal on hold, your radar detector didn't go off until the unit is taken off hold, by that time i have your speed before you can even think about hitting the brake.

This works on both moving and stationary mode, front/rear, same lane or opposite lane.
