You’re old enough to have used 5.25” floppy’s? What computer?

My first computer was a Dell Optiplex, roughly 2003/2004. That had a CD drive though.

I don't remember what kind of computer but it was when I was ~6 years old, so around 1991. It wasn't an Apple/Mac I know that for sure, definitely a PC...probably an IBM. My dad got the computer for me for xmas (but lets be honest, who gets a 6 year old a computer...it was really for him). I got the game Treasure Mountain though and loved it, came on one of those giant floppy disks

Shit, my first computer was a 486 DX2 no name clone. But the one I remember using the most was a Compaq Presario that had an AMD K6 and looked like this...

Except we had the matching CRT and keyboard haha. That 486 I mentioned still had a 5.25 high density drive tho

Our first was a Mac back in '93 or so.

I remember playing Diablo on my uncles Thinkpad was it? I thought that was the best video game ever...

I'm sure that means something, but that was a LONG time ago.

haha I had the same back and forth with @Empty_Lord last night on here about that, it was for age/sex/location. Just a common abbreviated text that horny dudes would throw around at anyone online they thought was a girl

Speaking of old shit, I hate texting on touchscreens. I was so damn fast at texting on a phone with physical buttons; it was easy to "count" how many times you'd have to push a number to generate said letter and you got a text out without even looking at your phone.....I know cause we did it in school without the teacher catching us :anonymous:

I got lucky and our computer was post CRT’s. We had an ancient 4:3 aspect ratio flat screen

Ditto, although I do really like the swipe text feature on Android phones...makes it pretty easy unless you're trying to go too fast, then it can be infuriating lol

My sister had one of those classic neon colored ones with pink, that was our family's first Mac. Early 2000s I think.

I have some of those ancient LCDs but I honestly liked CRTs. They had amazing contrast, games didn't look bad at low resolution because they don't have pixels, the refresh rates were high... There's still something pleasing about looking at a CRT, if I could find the right one I'd keep one for my main desktop as a second monitor

We had those at our computer lab!

They came in turquoise, orange, and other bright colored plastic housings.

Yeah if I remember right, those were the computers that really started to put Apple on the map as a more user friendly, "hip" computer for young adults and creatives. The brand was changing a lot around that time
