Got my diff relocation kit ordered, I do think I've got the basics except for CB ordered or on the way. I really don't know anything about CB's, so I'll probably just mount something the night before and call it good. How do most of you bring your coax into the cab? I don't want to do a permanent install at the moment, so unless it is a downpour I plan to do as Skell mentioned and throw it through the slider for the day. I have an old shitty magnetic floppy antenna, what does everyone recommend for an antenna. I've heard some pretty mixed reviews of the firesticks, but their price is appealing. I would definitely want something quick detach.

For those that know, is it worth getting a legit antenna, or would my old floppy magnetic one be good enough?

Isn't that the motor with the Head gasket issue? I know it was either the 3.0 or 3.4, but never owned one. Always has the 22RE which was tough as nails!

3vze then. I almost want it but don't want the effort of getting it back from Jersey.

Diff relocation or diff breather location?

If it's a front diff drop just don't.

My bad, just a breather relocation. I opted not to diff drop when I lifted the front. I figured if I ran into cv angle issues then I would consider it. But read a lot of other issues from people that did it. I would like a little advice as to where to put it. My original thought was to put it in the little cubbie above the wheel well. I swapped beds and surprise 13's got rid of those little cubbies. I've seen them put into the gas cap area, but feel like that would be a pain in the ass.

If this was a few more years down the road I would love to get something like this as a project to do with my son as his first vehicle.

I had both a firestick and a Wilson 1000 mag mount.

Antennas work best when it's located in the middle of a flat piece of metal. Range with the firestick was like 1 mile as it was on the rear bumper. Range with the Wilson was over 10 miles sitting on the roof.

If you want it solely for a trail, I'd go with whatever you like the look of the best. If you want the best performance, a whip dead center of the roof is what you want.

The reason I went with the Wilson 1000 after the firestick is because the antenna easily unscrews from the base so if you needed to park in a garage it isn't a problem.

My 4runner has the 3.0. It was just replaced before I got it. I plan on swapping a 3.4l into it hopefully next year.

While looking for something else, I finally came across this:
    IMG_20190918_56520.jpg
I know we had a conversation about this a while ago, and it skipped my mind. Can't quite remember if that was @Redmann, or someone else...
Who was interested in getting a spare tire mechanism from me?
