    UPDATE:

Well here’s a little update for everyone. The NEW Updated 3rd Gen Kit has shipped and I should receive it this week. I have switched everything over to my vendor now and will be using my own vendor. Should have faster shipping with everything being pre-made once it’s in stock.

    67B12BA7-AEFF-4BE6-9A87-10255338D012.jpg

It got held up by the post office so we had to wait for a bit. That set us back about a week. :/ Here is a pic of the PNP Harness

    D7CD26CA-0A01-4914-9B46-E720BF8E63F0.jpg

I ordered 200 of those. I also ordered 200 of the Integrated Plug-N-Play Harnesses that go from the Tailgate to the Cab. Now these Integrated Harnesses will go for all the Kits: 3rd Gen & 2nd Gen Tundras and 3rd Gen & 2nd Gen Tacoma’s. Here’s a pic of this Harness

    C5D6E79D-C104-432E-B1B4-A0AF372C2015.jpg

My vendor also sent me 200 boxes to ship these Kits in as well and so I will be adding these to inside my shipping boxes which will fit perfect.

    https://youtu.be/aYFrhsEraAQ
These are the same boxes that my Power Folding Mirror Kits come in so I know there is a lot of room in here that I should be able to also add the rest of the Kit items. We shall see when they arrive :bananadance:

Whatever doesn’t fit inside this box will go right on top inside the shipping box and will be packaged up individually in its own bubble packaging with labels like this

    1BF11D65-BEBC-43DD-BC05-7A178F70E380.jpg

After I have seen everything and everything looks great, that is when I will go ahead and place the first order for the 200 PNP Harnesses for the 3rd Gen Tundras and get them started. Things are starting to move forward.

Hey @KTJO 4x4 do you have the Bolt-N-Lock Bracket & Rod? If so I'll shoot the payment over to you now, I've had your complete kit sitting around my garage forever and never got to it. I'm glad I didn't because now you have Bolt N Lock bracket and rod and I won't have to put holes in my tailgate. Thank you!

I finally got back to finishing up the opener portion of the install. I am experiencing the same issue. The opener is not engaging enough to release the tailgate.

@tacodnr mentioned something about backing up the Actuator just a little further and allowing a little more space and it should work for those that were having this issue. I believe he was adjusting the plates to allow for some adjusting to be done from now on

The position of the actuator would just need new 1/8 hoes drilled a quarter of a inch forward or a quarter of a inch back depending on the situation . But the actuator should have plenty of power to pop the gate open once you find the sweet spot . Going to add a bunch of holes to adjust the actuator position on the next run .

When testing to make sure the gate opens Remove the bed tailgate rubber stops . I had to shave mine down a 1/8 of a inch to make it work best .

Once you adjust the holes and find the spot that works with you , please let me know so I can add it for other users as well .

So in my case I need to move the actuator further away from the release assembly. I had to pull the actuator plunger all the way out to line up the holes for the rod and actuator. If I move the actuator further away I will need to pull the rod assembly to the actuator which I believe will engage the release just a bit. Are you thinking its not enough to be of concern?

If you slide off the boot on the actuator it will give you a better view . When the actuator is mounted it needs to be all the way out . When it receives power it needs to pull in . If the bump stop on the actuator isn’t touching the housing when pulling in the actuator needs to be moved forward closer to the latch .

If the rubber stop is bottoming out befor it opens the latch it needs to be moved back .Small adjustments in direction depending on the situation should fix the issue

As you can see with the boot removed you will see a rubber stop on the actuator .

Thanks for the pics. I will pull the cover and see where mine is tomorrow. Hopefully with some adjustments I will be in business.
