Regarding a tonneau, I really like my Bakflip. It goes from closed to 95% usable bed space in 30 seconds, and can be completely removed by 1 person in about 3 minutes.

I’d love to have the chrome surround color matched...not sure how to go about that, but I agree that it would make a huge difference. After driving the truck today to have it tinted, I think I’ll just take the steps off altogether. They’re not necessary (even for me and I’m not tall) so I’ll take them off and see what it looks like then. Thanks!!!

    Thank you! Hope he agrees

I’ve been eyeing the bakflip tonneaus, so it’s nice to see a positive review! Not sure it’s in the budget this time, but definitely keeping it in mind for Christmas. ;)

    He’s in the Navy.

Lady, you're a keeper! Not sure if you know or even care but negative offset just means the surface of the wheel that bolts to the hub is inside the centerline of the wheel. This makes the wheel stick out more(wider stance) than zero or positive offset wheels of then same width.

Backspacing is from that same surface to the inside edge of the rim so a wider wheel with the same offset will have more backspacing(stick in more) and be more likely to rub.

You both have my gratitude for your service.

Think twice on getting rid of the running boards, their a great door ding deterrent . This may not concern you, if you don't shop at WalMart .
Thanks for your husbands service , and thanks for the way you long distance love him.

Did he just so happen to make a pit stop in one of the worlds richest countries during his deployment?

Thank you so much! I did finally learn what backspacing was on a super basic level...this explains it well so I appreciate it. :) the ones I went with are -12.

Ah, didn’t think of this. He’s already had several unexplained spots from sailors he parks near for work.

I really appreciate everyone’s help and kind words of support. It really does mean a lot that people recognize their sacrifices (especially at the tail end of an extra long deployment).

Hmmm, they’ve made several stops on their journey towards home...but the stop in the richest country was canceled, if I’m remembering correctly.

That’s so exciting! Small world. :) Mine will be back, hopefully settled in, and around to help me navigate our first PCS by that time. (If we ever get off the housing wait list...til then we’ll be living in separate states)

It is so frustrating for us lol. My wife was like “hey, look for apartments in VA”

“So we are gonna be in VA when you get back?”

“Well. No. Probably not. But that’s one of the places I might get stationed”

“..... how long will we be there?”

    “Idk. Maybe a couple months?”

    Like gah damn lol.

She said “if you want to you can just move there now and then we can be together when I get back”

“Okay but what if you don’t get stationed there?”

“Well make sure it has a military clause so you can move out then and go somewhere else” Hahahaha I was like woman life is not that easy

Okay yes exactly!! We were told there’s no way he’d have to leave Florida after his first tour, so we bought a house. Less than 3 months later, he got hard orders to VA. So he’s been gone basically since Christmas and I’ve been in our house alone with the kids. We decided to live in base housing in VA when he gets home...wait list is 10-14 months. Oh, and they let you know 2 weeks before something opens up. So not exactly enough time to get things situated if you stupidly bought a house elsewhere.

Gah dang and it’s not exactly easy to just buy and sell houses too! Sorry you’re going through that. We are gonna try to rent apartments or homes until her contract is up. Just too risky to buy a house whenever they move you around so much with the military

Alright, folks. We’re done (for now — new tonneau coming for his bday in a little over a month). He’ll be seeing it in a few days (can’t say exactly when, of course, but it won’t be long!)1381E7F0-D042-4C4F-8E88-D4FD4B7CCB69.jpg

Your pretty bad ass. Always wanted to do something for my older brother who is in the army. He’s done four tours over seas. The last one really messed his head up. Thanks for your husbands service.

Great looking truck. I’m sure he will be thrilled when he gets back home. Thank you for your husband’s service.
