    these are rated at 75lbs each. insane hold.

    They were linked in the original post but looks like the link no longer works, I’ll have to update it. I specified those as a semi-permanent no-drill mounting option. Way overkill of course.

    overkill is like too many lumens. never an unwelcomed situation.

    So I found some magnet options on Amazon with the bolt and nut design. But $19 for 2!?! Holy crap. Anyone see any strong, but cheaper options?

    You can try to find one that includes nuts. The link I provided says 1/4-20 thread, you can find a fitting nut at your local hardware store. I typically keep metric and standard hardware packs which contain a variety of common nut/bolt sizes, which you can purchase from an auto parts store, and it almost always has what I need so I don’t need to go searching. I highly recommend keeping them on hand.

    :annoyed:Another lighting mod thread how do you have the time or energy to put this much into these things and spend my money.

    Test some of the popular Amazon special ones like Amrak or somthing like that. I have them and they seem pretty decent for the price. Would be cool to see how some of these Chinesium ones hold up against the big boys.

    :anonymous: Sometimes I ask myself the same question... I’ve got 2 more in the works... ;)

    There is too much generic Chinesium to sort through for testing, not worth my limited time. I do often test off brand lights for various applications as I come across them, typically take offs from a local members trucks that bought Chinesium off Amazon/carid based on good reviews, before upgrading to much better products. I have never been impressed compared to what is available from quality major name brands. Even if you found something that performed half decent today, that doesn’t mean it is a quality built product that won’t fail tomorrow. And while some may offer a compelling warranty, I’ve seen companies no longer be around to support it, or it get warrantied out so many times it is no longer worth it. That isn’t to say there are not value branded Chinesium products out there that people are happy with. But my threads focus on class leading quality and performance, literally the best of the best. If I wouldn’t proudly install it on my truck, I’m not going to recommend it for yours.

    Brad's ok in my book he did compete in the UA this year. I think he got a real dose of some of the hardercore wheeling and rigs on that trip.

    So i tapped a constant power lead so i had the choice of using these without keys in the ignition.
    After swapping axels i had an open switch bay. 20 dollar Amazon rock light switch for now. Honestly would prefer a stock oem foglight switch. If i can find one at less than retail. Passenger front wire is routed through the engine bay instead of under the truck. Ran it down the drivers side frame rail then over to the passenger rear. everything is water proof crimp/shrink connections and loom coverd. these shots are under dim city lights.     Looks sharp! I know you really just wanted to show off those killer Kings. :D Need to get some better output shots in a dark location, I know a few around my place with very little light pollution.

    Any comments on the ease of using the magnetic mounts in those locations?

    fronts are simple, anywhere. For the rear test fit. youll have a weak reading but theres a metal support brace under the mud skirt. top center. i just used a sharp razor knife and cut a small circular hole. trimmed carefully so its only as big as needed. ill take another pic of that later.
