2020 Tacoma Teased

There is definitely a quick shift from gears 3->4 causing the truck to bog at about 1000-1100rpm and will shift back to 3rd in a normal to moderate acceleration on these 3rd gens tacos. Only way I’ve been able to avoid this 3/4/3 dance is to pin it when accelerating.

 

Do you have an automatic?

 

Any other Canadians notice how crazy the interest rates became for the 2020's? 4% interest rates on 48 months and below and nearly 5% on anything longer!

 

I do, both my 19s shifted fine with the TSB update they did at some point. My 16 and 17 though...

The tranny complaints here are ridiculously over blown.

 

Yeah I noticed that, Toyota Canada often starts with high interest rates on new models.

What bugs me more is how much money the TRD sport double cab with a manual transmission now costs.

You can only order it one way, fully loaded with thousands of dollars worth of crap I don’t want.

It went up approx $2700 over 2019, plus 13% tax. Fuck.

 

The tranny in my 2017 was tolerable around town. ECT fixed that. But long distance trips sucked. The constant shifting in cruise was annoying as hell.

 

Damn so you guys are basically paying TRD Pro prices for a TRD Sport?! Damn! That's f-ed!

 

The 19’s have a bit different flash from the factory on the transmission from my understanding through the hours of reading I’ve done for months. It just shifts to higher gears for fuel economy anyway. Mine doesn’t bother me or hunt for gears all the time. It just likes staying in higher gears for fuel efficiency. I have no complaints

 

It's always been like that for us up north, 43k msrp for an OR or Sport

 

Yes, I do. No shit , it loves staying in higher gears for fuel efficiency, but it doesn’t constantly hunt for gears. No joke

 

PS........ Been shifting gears my whole life. Love a manual, but I’m getting lazy. Lmao

 

Agreed, up almost $3k but that doesn't even include the surround view cameras or LEDs. So we're paying for updated head unit and power seats?

 

Yes, Land Cruiser is a no brainer! Great truck!

 

The base models only went up ~$2-300. It seems to be the Premium Package where most of the cost increase went. The new head unit and all the connected services stuff. So if you are buying a base truck without any packages there shouldn't be much difference, but the Premium Package should come with the tailpipe lube.

 

True. Base model pricing only went up $200 and that includes the updated headunit and power seats which is a good deal. Too bad the moonroof isn't available as a standalone option cause that's all I want.

 

Holy crap! That thing is beautiful. I put money down on one. Probably take six months to get. Want. Now.
