I went with 275/70/17 BFG KO2's. I swapped my wheels out for the 4Runner SEMA wheels to gain a little more clearance than the stock TRDOR rims, so I know I am in a bit of a different boat than you are, but I believe they make them in 275/65/16 as well. I went with E load because I do a lot of hunting in West Texas and did not want to worry about getting a flat if I ran over a cactus. The added 10ply weight was really not that noticeable on a day to day basis other than it driving a bit more "truck like".

Overall they have been a pretty good experience, they fill up the wheel well better than the stock 265's without worrying about the potential performance issues and cutting required for 33's.

Good looking truck. Did you have to trim or cut any body mounts? Is that an OR or a PRO??

17 offroad. No cutting for my 285s but you will need wheel spacers or u will rub uca. A good alignment and remove the mud flaps you shouldnt have to cut.

Guessing you went with the 3inch lift? Im not entirely sure if the pro even is true 2.5 inches which leaves me to believe the 285 will rub without spacers or trimming.

Yeah....no problem. When you said the T/A Traction wasn’t aggressive enough I figured you were looking for Super Swampers or sumthin’

1234.jpg 1235.jpg I bumped back down from 285s (Coopers). I had them re-balanced twice and they still seemed off and they were super loud on the freeway. I had BFG KO2 prior to getting lifted and returned to them in 275/70/17. Ride is now much quieter and smooth as a baby's butt.

For everyone saying they have or have had the 285s im guessing you all lifted your trucks. Im not looking to replace the OEM TRD PRO lift. considering that would be sorta of money pointless at this point. Anyone have a Trd pro with 285 stuffed under it without changing the current trucks suspension?

i would say now im more leaning towards a 275 setup seems to be a going trend, I can see why you all switched to the 17" rim size's a lot more options.

The mileage is so bad with swampers, the gas companies will subsidize their purchase.

You're going to have to do a CMC and trim plastic if you run 285 on a Pro stock suspension if you dont want to rub.

Here's mine with a 2 inch lift, 4runner Pro wheels and 285/70/17 nitto terra grapplers, tires are SL and weigh 46lbs a piece. Performance wise, I cant imagine running a +50lb tire.

    20190907_134643.jpg

I did the CMC and I still rub on some of the rear fender liner on full compression in an off camber half turn. I need to trim another inch or two to be completely clear.
    20190919_065915.jpg 20190919_065924(0).jpg

Here's the poke with the 4runner wheels, just a hair outside the fender trim.

255/85/16..... I like the way it looks and rides mileage sucks no matter what.... the more narrow tire doesn’t follow grooves and ridges in the road as bad...
