Enzo (our oldest and king of health issues) has had some dental problems. The best bet is to let the vet do a cleaning and inspect the other teeth. He was having some digestive issues and other symptoms that were actually caused by an abscess growing over one of his teeth. It was only $800, so not insanely expensive but they cleaned and pulled two teeth.

Our major problem now is his urinary problems, we have to balance soft food to combat crystals in his bladder and hard food to help his dental health. Add to that, he’s a piggy when it comes to eating so that means a strict diet which then translates to the other cats. So no food is ever left out all day.

Best of luck bud, these little fur babies can be a pain but it’s all worth it

Enzo resting (he’s currently combating another urinary problem)

That’s what’s so odd - he’s quite young and ya never had any other health problems. The tooth looks fine but the fact that it’s no longer in his face proves me wrong on that. Vet appointment is Tuesday.

Right you are. The only clue to my Bellatrix’s decline that led to her death was that she stopped eating.

I’m glad Enzo is doing well! Hopefully Sterling is not too bad off. We’ll see soon, I suppose.

Thanks to everyone for the replies!

Who knew having a beard would be risky when you have a cat...Harley loves rubbing against my face, then he'll lick my cheek a couple times and then CHOMP and tries to pull the hair out. Hurts like a mfk'er. He does it so lovingly though it's hard to get mad

Well our itty bitty kitty has apparently been fighting. Toni has a big abscess in her side, two puncture wounds side by side. Found them Saturday morning when I was brushing her; got a flinch & a chirp, and when I investigated I found a lump under her skin with a pair of scabs. So she's been an indoor kitty for the last few days (much to her displeasure). I've been putting hot compresses on the swelling and it finally came to a head and started draining last night, and she's in much better spirits. She's not a fan of the 'surgery' sessions we're doing 3 times a day to clean & disinfect it, but she takes them quietly enough. But now that she's feeling better we're having to do more 'door guarding' when we come & go.

Smokey's been helping us keep it clean, too.

    Mewcifer

She’s been pretty lonely since we had to say goodbye to JellyBean, we would like to get her a companion but she’s a few pounds overweight and we’ve been trying to get that in check first. Portion control with an automatic feeder to keep the feeding times consistent. Taking her for a weigh in this weekend.

Oh, she is not a fan of the diet. She’s clocking in at 11lbs and she’s a tiny framed cat. Out vet would like to see her closer to 9lbs.

Young one is Zoe, who I brought home yesterday. Big tan one is a Dewey, a 1 yr old Norwegian forest cat. He grumbles and acts like a 90 yr old man. Big gray one is Phoebe, 2 yrs old and really uncoordinated. Hence the messed up ear. She also has only 1/2( yes half) of one front canine left. All due to clumsiness .

Looks like Toni's feeling better. Left my pants on the bed after I did the 'gear switch' to a fresh pair this morning. Went and washed up and came back in to find her showing them who's in charge.
