    Yes that's the one.

If you gonna be using android auto then you don't need a hotspot, it would get it by connecting through your phone itself.

If you only be using the HU's Android System like I do, then you need a hotspot but you can get apps to set it so that your hotspot connects as soon as you turn your car on an HU's Bluetooth connects to your phone.

Well it turns out, I pay $10 less a month by turning all three of my phones lines to the hotspot version. $110 gross for three unlimited 4G data + 15GB hotspot. Not too bad. I was paying $120 before because one was on a 2GB data plan. So I'm ready to wifi hotspot the thing. It looks like I'll want to get the Tasker app so that it turns on wifi hotspot when I connect to the HU with BT, then turn it off when it disconnects. I think that should make it seamless. I can just throw the phone in the Qi charger without touching or connecting a cable. At least in theory.

I made an offer for a Dasaita one on ebay for $345.

That sounds good, that should do it. I think my consumption doesn't go above 10gb a month and I spend a lot of time in my vehicle as a field technician

If they don't accept I would just go for the Joying lol

Yes. I had to invert them, but it was easy to switch in the settings.

Saw this earlier and read the first 2 pages, mostly. Ended up dropping about $600 at crutchfield instead for this: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_700650450/Alpine-ILX-W650-Package.html?skipvs=T
Getting a kit to work with steering controls, USB, backup cam, and I think aux was included. Also, the DIN kit and wiring for the amp. I already had speakers, and the Alpine HU doesn't need any DAMNED dongles (looking at you Apple sheeple)

If all Alpine sound quality is like the Halo9, you'll have a great sounding system out of the box. My issue with that is the smaller screen, lower resolution, and still need to use a cable for AA/Carplay.

I'm assuming that the harness on the right is the one I want to use? Looks like the other one is a generic harness?

    What is this unit?

CanBus decoder. It allows your steering wheel an other stuff interact with the head unit.

Ah, so that larger harness on the left is actually the one I want. Thanks.

I got the unit in and it powers on but I have no steering wheel controls or TPMS. I've tried the button mapper but it's not responsive.

Go under your settings, then car settings I believe, then scroll to factory settings. The pass word is “126”. And you can find the steering wheel controls in there. Choose the right Toyota

They accepted my offer for 340 so I'm sure you are good. Now we need someone to test the waters at 330.

How does this compare to the Joying? Also do the dongles all sit behind the HU out of the way ?

I just ordered the PX6, they accepted $390 from their price of $429. Can probably go lower.

Delivery on listing says estimated Oct 8-18. Hopefully it's faster than that. Seller is Dasaita-official-store.

    If you're replying to me;

    IDK what Halo9 is :)
I've had Alpine and Pioneer aftermarket gear in the past and was pleased. It was an easy choice for me. I considered a 2 channel Fosgate amp that CF recommended, but I knew I'd potentially add 2 speakers into the rear doors or a woofer down the road. Far as the HU, it's over an inch larger than the stock. Mine is more/less the base model truck with no Entune/JBL/Nav so it's a definite upgrade. The cable kits, as usual, are free or deeply discounted at CF.
Far as I know, those kits are only for the steering controls, USB, and camera. AA/Carplay are built into the Alpine unit. The only real work will be running the line for the new mic for handsfree.

The biggest push for me in this direction, was the amp sitting behind the HU in the dash. Let's hope that part never sees water! An amp under a seat or somewhere else is very likely to get cooked fast!
