Well that didn't work. It was good I thought.

 

Anybody have a badass ratchet impact to buzz off the crank pulley bolt on a 1grfe? I tried a m12 Milwaukee ratchet impact, my air ratchet impact, and nothin. Don't want to do the sketch method of a breaker bar and bumping the starter to break it loose. I know an Impact will get it.

 

I'm a ways away from you, but I have a large impact that you're welcome to try. I had to enlarge the discharge line of my compressor to run it. I work in mesa/ gilbert during the week though. It still runs through a regular 3/8 line.

Would these work for filling tires with the right fittings? If so, worth looking at!

 

Probably not...

We use these on the ambo...while they're high PSI, they take a special regulator that usually tops out at 15 lpm.

 

Thanks man. It needs to be a small compact or ratchet impact to fit.

Sucks because I'll have to reassemble it to even do this. I have it torn down up to getting the bolt out. S/C tensioner is removed. Both belts off.

So slap it back together, pull the fuse, run it, then have at it i guess.

That works, just wasnt sure. The whole process is new and kinda sketchy to me, so just thinking of all precautions to take prior. Wasnt sure if the belt hanging and stuff would be an issue, but you're right, its just gonna want to turn the crank. I currently have it all off because I'm trying to remove my S/C Crank Pulley, so some thing were in the way and needed to be unbolted.

Thanks man. Might just try this method as the other impacts I tried didnt want to budge it either. I mean.. it is torqued to 204lbs. lol

I wish. no room between the pulley and fan.. otherwise, I'm sure my Rigid impact would get it. I tried a Milwaukee ratchet impact to get up on there, and no luck. thanks tho dude.

Yeah I had everything out of the front of it too so it fit.

 

got ya. Yeah I'm not wanting to take it all out for this one bolt. I'll try this breaker bar method.

 

If you have your starter off shove a screwdriver into the teeth of the flywheel. It will hold the crank so you can break it loose with a breaker bar too. That's how I torqued the crank bolt on the Z.

 

starter is not off. I am literally just trying to get the S/C Crank Pulley off for some R&D... thats it. No need for all this other work or removal of stuff. The only thing holding me up is breaking this bolt loose. was hoping I could just get a small impact in there. The breaker bar and starter trick will have to do instead.

 

so my next dumb question is.. which way does the crank rotate? lol IIRC its clockwise, so breaker bar would be wedged under passenger side of frame... wanting to pull up (clockwise) with the crank.

 

You are correct. It may be easier to place it above the driver side frame rail. So it doesnt fall off when bumped.
