Shot AEV an email to see if they would be offering a Tacoma snorkel anytime soon. Sadly answer was no and no plans of doing so.

New snork head. Side inlet, drain holes at the bottom. Removable grill and most importantly... doesn’t look like a hairdryer(cough TRD).
If everything looks good on the mock-up, I will be making a mirror image (head and snorkel body) for the drivers side so my twin turbos can suck from each side.
    The whistles go WOOOT.

    Where do you find these?

That one would almost work perfectly for mine if the tube connection was on the bottom. But then it would let water in. Hmm.

Anyway. That same head could work for mine. Where’d you get it? Please say you didn’t print it.

Great. You can run it into the cab, hook up a hose, have a buddy hold the RPM at 6000 and vaccuum your floor mats while camping.

Well, most people say that snorkels are really for dust. That area is pretty clean..... besides, if you are getting water up to your windshield, you probably don't need to be crossing.

I thought the stock scoop draws from that same area though. I totally agree about windshield depth. I actually have no use for snorkels in general on my 3rd gen. I would put one on a 10+ year old dedicated trail truck and hoon it through water, but not my 3 year old 40k mile truck.

I think this summarizes the truth about Snorkels on a 3G taco:

-If you remove your fender skirts to fit larger tires, you need one for sure.

-If you are going to push your luck in crossing deep water, you need one.

I was anti-snorkel until my bud hydrlocked his 4Runner crossing a creek that most people cross without issue. The creek had dug itself a little deeper, was swollen with rain, and he hit it too fast. My mind was somewhat changed and now I think they have a purpose and am considering one myself.
