    Harness the false confidence. Sports like biking require a level of confidence (real or imagined) to be successful and safe. You start doubting yourself and thats often when injuries ensue.

    Obviously there is a line for everyone. Cross that line and things get ugly fast.

    That's what happened to me in the video i posted earlier, where I hit the tree. Got too fast for conditions and got out of control.

    have you gone over your handlebars or wiped out yet?

    I did on a trail way above my skill level I don't have video of, came down a gap between two rocks and there was a rock just large enough in the gap to just completely grab my front wheel. Full stop, taco'd the wheel and went flying.

    Falling is actually a skill in my opinion. If you're actually out there doing anything active rather than sitting on your ass, falling is inevitable. Might as well learn to do it correctly.
