Me too... my audio and nav system on the JBL works just fine. I get to where I want to go, and listen to HD music from multiple sources on the way.

They are adequate and I use them both, but definitely room for improvement. XM sometimes has what I want to listen to, sometimes not. Occasionally I want to listen to something specific and so I'll bring it up on my phone. Works with bluetooth of course, but easier to control on Android Auto when doing that. And the Nav is OK in the truck too, I don't think it is trash like some do. It works for getting from point A to B, but it really seems to lack in routing and traffic. When it is rush hour and trying to get into work or I want to find the fastest way home, Google Maps and Waze is so much better at routing around traffic and rush hour. Also more up to date on road construction minute-to-minute updates and re-routing on the fly. Rather be able to put that up on my HU screen then try to find a place to put my phone so I can see it.

On top of that, my state just passed 100% handsfree laws and so having CP and AA will help with not having to interact with the phone itself as much as possible. Ideally everything will be able to be done by using the HU screen or by voice.

I would think the younger crowd would wonder even what this TV (at least live TV and not just a monitor to watch Youtube, Netflix, etc on) thing is. The only live TV I watch anymore is sports. But whatever, to each their own.

Just turning 40, I grew up right in the middle of the Boomer and Millennials. Grew up in the 80s before the big tech boom. TV started out as black & white for me. Then was a teenager in the late 90s and saw technology, computers, and the internet explode. In the 00s, cell phones and portable internet in your pocket. And so on. I can sympathize with both sides - I remember before the big technology boom and appreciate the benefits it has brought us since. But I do get tired of the pissing match between the generations...

I think the stock system works just fine. I had car Play in a work car, hated it and never used it.

Not understanding why people would want to spend an insane amount of money on a 2020 head unit when you can install a brand new 7" Carplay one from a company like Alpine, Kenwood, etc., for like $350. Is it just because its a Toyota part..?

I lived outside of NYC so we got a few extra channels, fun watching the original Star Trek series. Oh and having to use the old rotary phone.

Do the 2019s have the same front camera and trail guidance system that the 2020s have? I wonder if that alone will made the head unit incompatible?

I think front camera is the same in the 2019 as is the 2020. So maybe with the new head unit you get the trail guidance feature? Who knows. I would like the new head unit if it gave me that option but i ain't spending 3-4K for it. I just bought my 2019 in late June. I might as well trade it in if that was the case and start from scratch. At least then i would get LED headlights and an electric adjustable seat lol.

This. My favorite is how the "older gens" reminisce with back in my day we walked in a blizzard to the bus stop, 10 miles uphill both ways

I have a 2019 and no front camera...

There is no front camera from the factory on 2019 or earlier. That is part of the PVM/MTM system that was just introduced this year in the 2020s.

TSS runs off a front facing camera and a sensor. Thought i read somewhere that the multi terrain monitor was going to use that camera. Although there are some side views so... Don't know.

That's true, I think the TSS camera is up by the rearview mirror and the radar is behind the grill logo though (or under it on the Pro grill).

The MTM camera is going to be in the grill now I believe. I think the side cameras are on the side view mirrors.
