I was working with Nigel. I'm sending pics of my 99 tacoma trade in to a dealer in WV, then going to take it in later today to Pearson to see what they will do. Let the two dealers battle it out over my business. I have my # in mind that is reasonable but Pearson seem to not move at all until you just try to walk out. I'm not in any rush to make a deal when every dealer I talk with is willing to one up the other.

I drove a hour to buy my Tacoma from a small Dealership. Much easier to buy from. The big guys like to string you along, low ball you on trade in, sell you what they want to sell, not what you want. They always start at MSRP, then you have to negotiate a price. On my 19 TRD off road 4x4 dbl can I got 10% off.

Your trade-in clearly factored in your $7k discount.

    MSRP: $37,107
    Final price: $30,806.50 + TTL

Cash deal, no trade-in, no financing, no extended warranty, nothing else outside the deal for the dealer to make up profit on.

Purchased at the beginning of August at Molle Toyota in Kansas City. I drove 15 hours round-trip from Dallas to get it. Easiest new vehicle purchase I've ever made.

    Hey Everyone,

Anyone know of a good way to find the exact truck at the exact dealership that has one that I am looking for? I am in the market for a '19 after giving up on the 2020 with the sky high prices. Issue is, i want a specific truck, TRD Sport Black, DCLB with prem + Tech. Cars.com gives me a good list, but when i check the Vins on the actually dealership sites, its always a short bed never the long bed. Toyota.com gives me a list of trucks, but doesnt say where the truck is, just contact my local dealer to check it out.

I have spoken to a few dealerships who say they can go get it for me, but being quoted sales prices around 36K-38K for a 43K MSRP truck... Hoping I can go around them to the exact dealership who has one, and get a better deal of what they have in stock. Any better idea on what i can do? Or am I crazy pushing for 32-33k on a MSRP of 43K truck?

    Thanks everyone.

I've been shopping around heavily as well, still have yet to find the one for me. Usually when dealers don't have a car that you want on the lot, they trade a similar vehicle to obtain the one you want. Also it really depends where you are as well. I've been quoted a Sport 4x4 that has an MSRP of 38.4k for $32,760 before taxes and registration. That's about a 15% discount from MSRP which I have been told is a very good deal.....

    I hope this helps

2019 OR 4x4 MGM Access Cab bought in August from Boulder, CO Toyota.
    MSRP: $37173
    Paid: $32000+Tax
    Discount: 13.9%

I had to play two local dealers off each other but eventually got to a price I was happy with.

Traded in my 2WD SR5 2017 Tacoma for a 2019 TRD Off-Road with Tech, Premium, and a bunch of other listed stuff...

    MSRP: $43,430
    Sale Price: $39,047
    Additional Rebate given: $1,500
    Added Service Contract: $1,337
    Tax,Title,Lic...: $1,085
    Trade in 2WD SR5: $10,684 Equity (Owed 16K they gave 26K)
Basically $29,286 financed w/$471 monthly payment... $450 monthly if I would have forgone the 72/100,000 service contract...

I was comfortable (based on this site and facebook) that I was getting a fair deal from my hometown dealer. A dealer 30 miles away tried to sell me the same truck (same vin) for what would have translated to a $500 monthly payment and told me good luck finding it cheaper. I then had about 5 other dealerships either not being responsive or trying to talk me into something I did not want...

Live in CO but nobody had a cement AC w/ premium. Found one at a dealer in Salt Lake so did everything over email and flew out to get the truck. Probably didn’t get the absolute best price but got exactly what I wanted and saved plenty compared to waiting for a 2020. Figure they had me a bit as far as negotiating since I was coming to UT for a specific truck.

Just picked up my 2019 OR DCLB for $33,230 (w/ 1500 rebate) it has Tech package, bed mat, other stuff can’t remember the other options included. Pretty decent I think, sticker was $39,800 so it was over 6k under sticker. Dealer also beatmy credit union financing offer coming in at 2.59% 60 mo. I bought it on 9/19/19 hence user name lol.

I traded in my 06 4Runner sport edition 115k Miles. with Bilstein front lift and FJ rear springs. Got them up to 5250 on my trade which was nice. Underside was rusted LCRs were seized and it was made 11/05 so was in danger of the head gasket issue that costs $4k.

Overall I’m really happy so far. Feels like a great truck. Always wanted one since my roommate had a new 98 in college. Just ordered gatortrax cover for 200 on Amazon it was free with points.

After a few back and forth email exchanges with a few deals, I signed up to get a 2019 Tacoma TRD OR with Premium, Tech, and a few other options and got a little over 15% off. MSRP of $44k, paid $37.2k and around $40k out the door (no trade). Seems like a fair deal. Picking it up Monday. Can't wait. Thanks for everyone's input here as it made my target range easier to focus on.

Your $6,800 discount from MSRP is excellent!!!

It’s just another reminder that dealers are making killer deals on remaining 2019 inventory.

Man I wish I’d waited until now to buy my rig. It looks like you guys are getting some killer deals. Unfortunately, I had to buy my Taco in February due to other circumstances and I had to really beat up the dealer to get to where you guys are landing. Here’s how my sale went down.

2019 TRD Off-road DCSB w/ premium pkg, tonneau cover, all weather floor mats, mud flaps, etc. MSRP = $42,015. Final price = $37,200 before the $1k rebate Toyota had going at the time & the season pass to Mt Hood Meadows they threw in as incentive. They also gave me a $200 parts credit for the dealership which I used on a Pro Skidplate. I’d have to look at the paper work I signed, but I think I was out the door right at $37k after taxes and plates.

I beat them up on pricing over the course of a month to get them down to that number. It’s important to make sure you make everything about the cost of the vehicle, NOT THE PAYMENT OR TRADE. At the end of our negotiations, I told them flat out I’d just wait till the end of the month to come in and buy the truck from them when they were desperate for bonuses if they didn’t get to my number now. Seemed to work haha.

#1 car purchasing rule in my opinion; Always go into the dealership on the last day of the month, preferably in the evening when everyone wants to go home. Dealers will accept offers that they would normally reject due to meeting monthly sales goals, incentives from the manufacturer, etc.

Before beginning your rule 1, you need to do your homework. Never go into the dealership until AFTER you have negotiated a price. Every step should be done online. No reason to talk until the deal is done and the dealership emailed your customer order
