Letter said I needed to have the CRC treatment done within two years in order to be eligible. If I do that I have up to 12 years! Problem is... I take better care of the frame than their treatment ever will (per what I have seen here). Do I have any options? The CRC looks like poo, and I actually care what the underside looks like... Anyone have any luck with Toyota and an alternative treatment??

Got My Letter this week as well ..... You think that after all these YEARS Toyota would have taken the time and money to use a better quality steel and corrosion resistance..... WTF? I Specifically had a conversation with my Salesman, Shop manager and Sales manager about this before I bought my 2012. Of course they said "Fixed", No issues ... I guess my decision is whether to do the CRC Coating knowing, per other posts on the subject, say it's crap - or to Just fluid film and ignore the 12 year coverage.

I got my letter today as well and yeah I'm with you what a disappointment that they still cannot get this right. We will see this move into the 3rd gens as well I bet...its still the same frame since 05 they haven't changed it up thus why this is still plaguing owners.

Do you know this for a fact?

There’s been quite a few who missed out under the original terms that could benefit.

BTW, I got my letter on 10/31/19

ALL Tacoma’s are privy to this from the notice I saw at the dealer I visit. NOT A RECALL.

Inspection and eval first, under coating, then replacement if needed.

Can someone post a pic or pdf of the letter? There's 1 thread with pics, but it's all chopped up into 14 pics and most of them are sideways.

Woah I had no idea the recall got extended to 2011+..... So how long are we covered under the recall? My 2012's frame is pretty solid and I undercoat it every year, but would be good to have peace of mind.

From date of extension or date the truck was manufactured?

I've been using Fluid Film on the chassis of my truck since it was new and there virtually no rust after five winters of road salt. There is no way I'm letting Toyota apply that CRC crap!

As I understand my letter, it is 12 years from the date of notification.
