Yes. If you don't have solar to keep the main battery topped off or a second battery I wouldn't suggest leaving it running full time for more than 24 hours.

I ordered one as well. In fact I'm wasting $30 to ship the Costway that I ordered before I know about this back to them.

I have a group 31 and a 100W solar panel. Hoping this holds her. Fridge won't be pulled all the time. I even plan to take it out of the truck when not in use and will double as my shop beer fridge! Anyone have experience with that power setup?

100w solar panel should be fine. The dual voltage 12V DC and 120V AC works great on this fridge. I pre-cool the fridge the night before with 120V power before I put it in the truck to plug in the 12V for the off road trip.

Not sure how it's anymore work than putting the plugs above the cubby....the lighting in my shell that I wired into the second switch took a lot more time.

I run my ARB off a group 31 with no secondary charging and do just fine. Solar will just be icing on the cake for you. I can run mine for ~3 days before I NEED to drive around.

Keeping it out of the sun keeps it cooler so it doesn't run as often so it doesn't drain your battery as fast as well. Mine is exposed in the bed and I'll bungee one of those reflective windshield shades over it if it is on the sunny side. Really helps a lot.

Super useful insight man, thank you. I figured as much since group 31 literally have 3 times the amp hours (Ah) compared to group 35. I think it's like 44Ah for 31s and 150Ah for most GOOD 35s.

Yeah, group 31 other than the weight has essentially no downsides. More hookups, more CCA, more amp hours. What's not to love?

Mine's X2Power (rebranded northstar) but otherwise identical to below.

Also nice DFG slide! I ordered one from him as well. Got the tilting model. I learned about that company from my land cruiser days. He's well known on IH8MUD, seems to have a lesser following the tacoma world. High quality as a low price point.
