I think I did that at 65k. Pads still had maybe 15k left on em.

 

Oh it will be once I replace the flatscreen for a CRT haha

 

The Explorer I did had almost nothing left. No record of them ever being done before, so I assume they’re original.

 

I built mine around a 32" CRT. Tv is probably equal in weight to the cabinet.

 

I don't think you can resurface drilled and slotted rotors.

 

Judging by how much was left on mine, id say the PO did hardly any engine braking. I expect to get a lot more out of my brake components since I always downshift on stops.

On my Scion I ended up needing a new clutch before I needed new brakes, lol. I downshifted like crazy with that car. Got a new clutch at ~120k miles on it and was still on the original brakes when I traded it in.

I don't downshift as much in my truck though. Got new brakes on it at about 60k. I think the offroading and heavier weight takes the biggest toll on them.

 

Think I’m probably going to opt for a Raspberry Pi over a prebuilt PC since it allows me to use modules to control actual arcade buttons plus trigger the coin acceptor.

I dont do it as much as I did when I first started driving the 92, as my dad always did it and it wore off on me. I mainly do it in my truck at stops over 45 mph.

 

I've heard that as well, I looked it up though and some people say you can but it's more complicated than doing it to regular rotors so I'm guessing more people don't

 

The Honda I worked on was all engine braking. The pads had like 80% life left.

It just doesn't feel as natural doing it in my truck, with the coupe it was so smooth and easy to downshift it just felt right. My clutch gets enough abuse as it is and I'd rather do a brake job more often than have to do a clutch job earlier than needed

 

ugh that brings back memories of when I had my doors apart 5 or 6 times over a few months last year to replace broken handles

 

I don’t know how you’ve broken so many handles, I’ve never broken one before.

 

eh it's well documented from my many posts about it last year lol, don't want to get that going again. First couple broke in freezing cold weather. Couple more broke where the lip on the back would no longer engage the rods. Suffice to say I finally went with the cheaper Dorman handles and haven't broken another one since.
