They are, god they are. But they're also great vehicles. It kind of balances out.

Check out my build thread (Beginning of Money Pit)
If the ranger would have came with a solid front axle, I honestly think it would do better.
I hope the money that toyota invests in TX facilities eventually trickle over to production of Landcruiser 70s, with solid fronts.

I would get rid of my taco tommorow for a new landcruiser pick up, even if it was gas instead of diesel

Get me a V6 in a Ranger and I will look at it. Zero interest in a 4 cyl. truck.

Man, I agree with you, but technology is changing the game fast. I’m afraid it’s the wave of the future.

At the end of the day, does it really matter? I mean, seriously. Who cares who's selling the most?

Honestly, if other trucks bite into Toyota's dominance in the mid sized market, that could be a good thing. Competition is what stirs invitation and generally helps to improve a product overall.

That's usually a win for the consumer

I'm not sure I agree with this... My last car was a 2016 CX-5. Not the fastest by any measure, but very reliable amd not too hard on the eyes either. The one thing I miss is the infotainnent system's center control knob-was on par with the BMW's knob in function. Was so nice and easy to drive, I gave to my daughter (1st car-lucky brat).

The few complaints I had with Mazda are not with the car, but with the dealers in my area. Both sales and service tries to make you feel inferior when they talk to you (far above the normal level in my opinion, which is why I won't taking it there for service or be buying another where I live. If this is typical, maybe the above quote has some merit afterall. Otherwise, the car itself has held up nicely with no cost above mormal maintenance. They have plenty of options that just work, and AFAIK, have a good track record, and a strong following (much like Toyota - just no trucks).

Although Mazda is a small car company; they are producing some very nice vehicles. I see a lot of these cars on the road, but that could also be the phenomenon of being more aware of what you drive after you get the same vehicle...:notsure:

I am surprised that Mazda is not back in the Truck business. The 2020 Concept is not bad looking if it will happen who knows.

Bingo, or the complexity of cylinder deactivation by electro-mechanical lifters as Chevy trucks like to do...These 2 items = BIG repair bill when those puppies let go @ about 90K miles.
Not a coincidence here why warrantres are getting shorter each year.
