I have a 2019 and looked under the fender. It’s crazy because it looks like the box is there, just no opening cut out of the bed. Anyone else with a 2019 notice this? Trying to grow the balls to just cut it open and see

Hey, I’m interested in these covers but I couldn’t track them down easily. Can you link to them please?
    Thanks so much

I like the ideas of the waterproof covers. I ran a BRC diff breather in mine.

Gonzo, did you cut the bed open? Did anyone else have luck installing a cubby box on the driver’s side of the bed? I have a 2021 Tacoma and that cubby box is not installed from the factory.

I didn’t add the storage box to my 2019, but I did add two rivnuts that allowed me to secure the lower mounting tabs of my driver side MOLLE panel setup, same as they are secured on the passenger side cubby/120v outlet station. I ordered two of the black M6 torx bolts that are used on the passenger side and drilled two 5/16 holes in the driver side, and installed two M6 rivnuts.

For the driver side cubby addition, all you’d need to do is unbolt & pull your passenger cubby out to use as a template for bolt spacing, then measure the rectangular hole on the passenger side and transfer it to the opposite side. A couple pilot holes drilled and a jigsaw w/ a fine blade is all you need. Install 6 M6 rivnuts and you’re all set. It’ll bolt right in.

While I initially wanted the storage cubby in my bed too, I quickly abandoned the idea as it just wasn’t worth the time/effort/expense for me. I found I don’t use the passenger side cubby at all, and the MOLLE pouches I have affixed to my panel add much more storage than the cubby offers. Not to mention nothing rattles in my MOLLE pouches. But yes, if you want to do it, it’s a quick project. Truthfully, once you’ve committed to drilling into and cutting into the bed, it’s a 30 minute job with the right tools.
