So I'm looking into putting a 100watt solar panel on my roof. Using it to charge the battery and maybe whatever else.

How would I go about this? Any tips from people who are currently doing it? I know i would need a solar charge controller. But what else? How would this all get hooked up?

its pretty simple. Get a control and panel and wire it up. I am running a 100 watt renogy panel fed to a Victron mppt w/ bluetooth control that connects to the battery. If you PM me I will lookup what I got. Works well. I get 3-400 watts per day on avg and in the high dessert heat I got closer to 500 with a max over 100 watts at one point. There are other setups but you can get it going for under $300. I am running a 31 AGM Northstar which is not included in that price. Only running a single battery. Its not the end be all but Ran my fridge 24/7 for 8 months before I had a day where it died and that was this past week. Not as much sun now a days.

Single battery solar is done on marine systems regularly. Solar panel to the controller to a direct connection (fused) to the battery. Put a switch if you want to be able to turn off current to the battery.
