My wife said the Taco rides rough, I told to walk then. She didn’t.

    Sorry, man.
My wife loves mine, but mostly as a passenger. She will drive it every once in awhile. We’ve had it for almost 19 years, and put over 325k miles on. This past summer, we did just over 4K miles on a three week road trip. Three summers ago, we did over 6k.

Last week, our daughter’s 4Runner needed to be towed to the shop. My wife pulled it with the Tacoma and I was in the 4Runner. She was nervous, but was stoked afterwards.

Our two daughters, ages 26 and 22, argue about who gets it. And the older daughter drives an 04 Tacoma. And the younger one’s 4Runner is a 98.

My wife absolutely loves my runner and claims it as hers.

My wife hates my first gen Tacoma and refuses to drive it. She calls it my “junk car”. Of course, she had no issues with it when she wanted to send it to Mexico. Apparently, you can now only import cars to Mexico that are 8 years old or newer, so the 17 year old Tacoma is too old. She hates it again.

My wife wants a 1st gen or 3rd gen 4 Runner. The 1st gen because it's a 1st gen and the removable top. The 3rd gen because she digs the lstyle, and knows that it's pretty much the same as our Tacoma. Currently, she drives a '15 Corolla S. Badass little car with cool little luxuries, and is great on gas. She just wants something bigger and simpler.

I clearly caved in too soon.

I’m hope I’m not kicking myself too hard when the new Tundra comes out with the new power train.

I’m not expecting the world to change design wise, but a 450hp efficient powertrain with an 8/10 speed would have been nice

I’d take a 3rd gen 4Runner any day. I love the look and size of that generation. Mine wants a brand new one but they are a lot of $$$$

As a fellow Taco driver I love seeing guys driving 1st gens, They’re few and far between here in Michigan.

i like a woman that can handle a 5sp stick (6sp on newer tacomas)

i drove mine all through the U.P. earlier this week, west of Escanaba/Marquette all the way to Copper Harbor, that was a trek!

Most all women like the 4runners, Tacoma’s are not high on their list,

    Don’t really care personally

My wife disapproves (“hate” seems a bit strong here but may be more accurate) of my ‘04. I’ve had it for 6 months and she has never driven it and only sat in it once, the day I brought it home. She sat on the passenger side, opened the glove box, flipped down the sun visor, looked around the cab, rolled her eyes, mumbled something under her breath about it being “too red” and walked away. Now she is convinced that any time the truck leaves the garage I am just moments away from a horrible fiery death because the truck is so “old”.

    Well your in trouble then,

Because If your relationship goes south, she will take the 4runner but if you have a Tacoma your safe.

When my relationship went south my Tacoma wasn’t on her want list :),
    Thank god

Does this mean the caravans of Mexicans driving one Toyota and towing another, are no more?
