A kayak for the wife and I, and a canoe for Adam and his wife. I picked it up for him from base MWR. Only $60 for the week.

Aw man! Wish I had known! You could've really seen if you could fit one more! Kidding, I'll probably run the trails or something while you guys are boating.

Lol! Well since we’re bringing tony, one of us will have to stay with him so we’ll kinda have an extra kayak/hanging out at shore if you wanna come down to the lake and hang at all.

I plan on stopping at the lake first either way. I can hang with Tony if whomever is waiting wants to go out. I don't mind. I'm miffed that my 'hound is too much of a mutant to bring, so it'll work out.

I really don't know. She likes to be outside, but I'm not sure she'd jump up into the rear seat of the Tacoma. We've always just used the wife or daughter's car to cart her anywhere. Mostly, though she's not good around other dogs. Or at least she wasn't when we first got her. She may be better now, but I don't want to chance it. And then there's her ridiculous fears..... she might be afraid of the tent. You are probably laughing, but this is the dog that we're pretty sure is afraid of striped blankets.

Man I totally get it. Definitely less stressful for both you and her for her to just stay at home and relax. Tony enjoys the camping aspect, but not getting jostled around in the back seat.

The trail riding part or being a passenger in general? Both of mine have LOVED car rides. I didn't even think about the trail riding. She would not like that.

I was gonna cut it before I left, but said fuck it.

He loves the truck. He doesn’t like the trail riding when it gets rough. He’ll stand up which just makes it worse lol

I think I have uwharrie next weekend I'm off then expo the weekend after that. I'm not sure if I'm going to expo or not. Maybe a day trip. Then I'm off to mt. Mitchell for a few days. Trying to time that with the peak of fall colors.

I borrowed two kayaks for SWMBO and me, but my son who is meeting us for the trail riding part on Friday is dropping our grand puppy off on us so he can go racing Sat/Sun. No idea how she will adapt to an RTT and I know we can NOT leave her tied up for us to both kayak. She wails like a banshee if we do that. So we have an extra if someone wants to take it out.

I volunteered to watch Randy's dog, why not one more? If you think she'll be okay.

we are picking up two of these for our lab, can't say how it works on trail rides in terms of keeping the dog comfy and able to lay down flat and not have front paws on the floor and rear 3/4 on the seat...plus as he gets older, figured he deserves some "plushness" while being chauffeured around!

I wish I had a pic handy but my whole back seat is a smooth plywood platform that I carpeted, and he has his bed on there. We didn’t want him to stand up, then slip his paw in a hole and break it. That’d be no bueno!

That’s good to know for next time! Next time you’ll be with us though so you and Adam can share the canoe :D
