im not stating this as fact, but I read that the 2.0's are aluminum where as the 2.5's are not and will eventually rust.
again, really love to hear from people who have knowledge/experience with these particular shocks.

Well crap. I only want to go up 1.5" in the front and 1" in the rear. I was going off Fox's website and figured I was in the correct lift range. Should I switch my order to the 117??

These shocks are totally rebuildable.. you can get new bodies from Fox cheap. I simply don’t need the extra shock/expense with the 2.5 option. I’m hoping to hit that 1.5/2” lift so the 117 fits perfect for my goals. Since my wife wants to use the truck for camping I did the adjustable rear to tighten up the rear dampening when we have the Tacoma loaded up.

For me I’m not sure if I’m going with a custom leaf pack or icon rtx yet.

For what it’s worth you should be hitting these with fluid film, so the aluminum vs steel isn’t a big deal, but if your planning for some high speed wheeling which will really work the suspension, go 2.5. If cost wasn’t an issue, I would have gone 2.5 but in the end I want an oem+ set up nothing too over done.

Yeah I would, because your in between the two lift ranges, and that extremely detailed post by head strong I would 100% go 117

Fox's website says 116 for 0-1.5" of lift, 117 for 2-3" of lift. I realize they may be miscategorizing them, but would there be any possible harm in running the 117 with only 1" rear lift? Bottoming out?

Check post 80, black taco quoted headstrong who put a very nice review up on the 117 compared to the 116. Regardless it seems like bump stops are a good idea, but I wouldn’t worry until you really start pushing the truck on trails. For regular driving and light Offroad/Trail use these shocks wouldnt know the difference anytime soon.

I'll do 2.5 IFP front for $800 and rear 2.5 for $500. It's a steal for either 2.0 or 2.5 set. Thanks OP for coupon code.

I think I'll switch the order to the 117s, especially when comparing the 116s to stock replacement shocks and the travel is less. Thanks for the input.

I don't want too much more of a lift. I think I will get an AAL. And call it good with the FOX shocks I ordered. Unless someone can tell me anything different. thanks.

You don’t need UCA’s to rub the 2.5’s. The only reason for UCA’s is if you’re lifting over two and a half inches so you can keep your alignment in spec.

Just ordered the -117's for the rear and the 2.0's for the front for under $1k plus 3 cabin air filters. Since winter is coming in I might just wait and buy the Icon leaf pack and get the install done in the spring along with the diff. bearing.

With the standard ones, with extended you need the UCA’s for the extra travel if not your missing out on all the extra fun you paid for

Got a shipping confirmation!!! For the cabin filter...

For my 3 items I needed I did:
    Cabin filter
Rugged ridge d ring 3/4 with the plastic things
And a tow rope from rugged

The reviews are whatever but it’s better then a ton of air filters. In 15 years and tons of builds never replaced one of those! Maybe I been missing out

Poll on the ODDS of them actually fulfilling the orders with $500 off?

I ended up changing my order and ordering a set of FOX 2.5's front and rear. $1000 off total

    $1399+$999= $2398- $1000 off= $1398 with no tax and free shipping?

There is no way why are going to take that loss.
