Doing a side job for a friend on her 2008 Caliber, there are no parts for this car over $50... even good brands are cheap. Which is a good thing because it need front ball joints and tie rods really bad, and all four brakes

Check the top and bottom motor mounts, they are notorious for going out. If one is out, the other one surely is.

Top should be about 80 and the bottom should be about 110.

If replacing any sensors, only use OEM. Aftermarket sensors dont play well with dodge vehicles.

I'll look and see if they're torn, if this was my car (lol as if I would buy a Chrysler or Dodge economy anything) it would also be getting a steering rack rebuild, front and rear struts, and new belts. I might just do the belts outta the kindness of my heart, but she has very little in the rainy day fund. So at the very least I wanted to get the big safety stuff done like the ball joints that have 1/8" of play and the sway bar links that are snapped and the LCA (cheaper to change the whole thing than just the BJ and then the bushings are new too). That way she can make it through the winter safely and I dont lose my ass on time, which the struts would probably set me over on.

I take pride in the fact that my cupholders still have the little rubber tabs intact, seems those are torn out in almost every other 1st gen I see

different cupholders have i and it really ticked me off when the supermarkets started selling the beverages in 500ml bottles instead of the standard 90s 20oz that fit my holder to a perfection with very little wobble wobble, the 500ml are all over the place on bumpy turns

i can still get a 20oz at the convenience store but those things are marked up super insanely

Interesting that your e-brake cable is at the top of the axle/above the leaf springs like that, mine is along the bottom of the axle and goes under the leaf springs.

Didn't realize there were two different types, might explain why the BPV relocation bracket I bought awhile back didn't work right.

I've done so many water pumps and timing belts on those 2.4s that I can get it down to 6 hours ,which is master mechanic time at a franchise dealer lol

All factory minus the suspension and bump stops. All clean now -

    20190920_113647.jpg

    All factory brother.

Talked to @GHOST SHIP and I'll be replacing the damn pressed in bushings on my leaf springs. They squeak like a mother fucker...at least for now it's all cleaned up and I put Red N Tacky on the pads to quiet most of it down.

Mine is too but yeah I think there were just two different kinds, I didn't realize it until now. Mine looks like this (not my truck just grabbed from google)

    maxresdefault.jpg

I think this explains why my BPV relocation bracket didn't fit right, must be another one that I need.

Pressed in bushings you mean the pads or the OEM rubber bushings in the shackles/main eyes? My rubber ones were the only ones that never made any noise, the poly bushings creak like mofos. Better with the right kind of silicone based grease in them though

The bushings up front, on the military wrap, are on there from OME. Those make a ton of noise; the poly bushings on the rear I greased like crazy when I first installed my leaf pack. I may go with greasable shackles once I undo my leaf springs .
