I still need to take care of some minor stuff on the OGT before she's minimally ready for action. Gotta locktite the trans mount bolts to the new crossmember/belly skid and then I have to replace the rear mounting angle for the front skid and then install the front skid.

Hopefully sometime before the Fall Camp & Ride, I'll get my winch installed, but I've had no motivation to do anything lately. It's too damn hot out.

I need to find some new oem headlights. And I need to get new front hubs before the Citrus meet I think my bearings are shot. But I'm tenatively looking forward to that. It has been too hot to work on much.
I'm getting a jump on my 100k mile maintenance and doing plugs this weekend. First time changing them in the 17months/18k miles I've owned it.

I ghetto rigged a garage air conditioner last weekend while installing suspension for a guy. A couple of hours before he showed up I took a 22" box fan and placed it in my deep freezer with the lid propped on top of the fan and let it blow cold air into the garage. By the time the guy showed up the temp in the garage was around 75 degrees and quite comfortable to work in.

I agree. Social media in general is cancer. I've deleted all of my SM accounts and am much happier for it.

I've been working on work. My next week home is after Halloween.

Not recently. I've got the PSA AR's I built earlier this year about where I want them. I did pick up a PVS14. It puts my Gen 1+ night vision to shame (which was to be expected).

I wish I had a garage. It would definitely have an air conditioner (or 2) in it with a polar icecap mode. I do have the box fan though. Not that it helps overly much blowing hot air on me, but better than nothing I suppose.

Would anyone in or near Leesburg like to be my install buddy for a leveling kit this weekend or next? My place or yours. I have most all of the necessary tools and am confident I can do by myself but having another set of hands would be nice. Plus drinking by myself isn’t too much fun lol. Someone with a garage and air tools would be a huge plus as well

Try reaching out on the NC thread. There’s some good dudes up there that would probably be happy to help.

So when I install my transfer case I'll need to make a cross member. Do you think it's worth it to do a 1" body lift to allow me to tuck everything alittle farther up?

Prolly a shot in the dark, but do any of you gents have a Rotopax mount (just the mount itself), and a 3gal gas container (not a fuelpax variant). Maybe you aren't using or plan on using for just a little bit?

Not looking to BUY it from you, borrow for a very short time (not using or modifying it, it's your property), but interested in purchasing here shortly and looking to mock up a general concept to see if that size containers fits my idea or not.

    I have a few mods
im not a fan of body lifts, but sometimes they are necessary. my 80 needed a 1" body lift to clear my horse collar trans crossmember. 1" really isnt much to worry about, anything above that is just too much imo

I did a 2" BL to tuck my drivetrain, including the engine, up 2", also by happy coincidence ( :D ) it allowed me to clear 36s.

I'll say this, negative propaganda not withstanding, a properly installed BL is perfectly fine. I've had several trucks with 3" BL on them (Fords, so unlike Jeeps and Toyotas, they don't show much frame with 3"). One of those trucks, a 1990 FS Bronco, I got into a fairly extreme accident with when somebody decided they wanted to be in my lane more than I did and bumped me off the road over the median into oncoming traffic. The BL didn't budge in spite of the fact that I hit a Taurus in the side so hard I had a piece of their plastic hubcap inbedded in my cracked lock-out and pretty much completely obliterated the car from halfway down the drivers door clean to the back.

As I mentioned the only sucky thing about body lifts with Toyotas and Jeeps is they end up showing too much frame and they end up looking goofy. A 1" lift isn't likely to do that, but my 2" is a bit borderline--my sliders kind camouflage it though so the benefits outweighed the drawbacks.

    That's IMHO.

Thanks for the input guys I think I'm going to see how it sits and possibly do a 1" lift. My goal is to give it a smooth belly for sliding

My wife and I decided to delete social media back in 2010 and haven't looked back. She constantly hears it from her girl friend who is always mad at another chick for basically getting more stuff and she is always trying to keep up with the Jones'. Our lives are better without all the social media drama and I even scaled back on TW as it was starting to get just as bad as far as being a "time sucker"

Have only been on a couple of times in the past 3-4 years to search for information lol.
