According to your stated "needs" the Sport will certainly fill the bill. If you never got stuck or had trouble navigating constructions sites with a Ridgeline, you certainly won't with a Sport.
I purchased the Sport because it has a very comfortable ride on the road and is equipped to easily handle any off-roading I will do. And I like the looks of the Sport much better than the OR.

By the way, Silver Sky is a good choice in color.

My wife and I have had both. We travel a 8 miles of gravel road daily. Right now her truck is a 2015 Off Road. My truck is a 2018 Sport. Never needed a locker on on any of our trucks. No problem with clearance on any of the Tacomas. Get the one that you like best, but be aware there are lots of complaints about the Gen 3 engine and transmission. In my opinion the complaints are justified.

Don’t let them bust your chops about the Ridgeline, I drove my 06 for over 10 years now my son drives it. I now have a 16 Sport and it does what I need it to do.

Not really. I like the look of the Black body parts on the off road models. And call me old fashion, but I miss having a key to unlock the doors and start the motor with. I take my Tacoma off road all the time and never had a need for crawl control. I even had to pull out my buddy's stuck Raptor. It's all about driving and you have to use a little common scene when our out there.

Oh, I can take it. I run 30 million dollars worth of construction each year, dealing with subcontractors has given me some thick skin and ability to read through BS. Hell, before the Ridgeline, it was 16 years of company provided Ford Fusions (what a POS vehicle), the ridge was a solid step up for me.

I think the Sport would suffice for your needs. That said test drive both and then decide which one is right for you.

Either would fit the bill nicely for your needs. The off road would be a little more capable, the sport would look a little nicer. Test drive both and buy the one that makes you the happiest.

I had this same dilemma 3 weeks ago. The ride is super soft and I don't have that fake hook scoop causing any visual impairments. No regrets-go with the OR. Agree that Silver Sky Metallic is the best color. In this pic there is 90 miles on the truck. I am digging this truck!

If you ever tow anything go with the off road, otherwise the sport sounds like it will work for you

Same here for the same reasons. Can't go wrong either way.

You can’t go wrong with either. They’re both good even though they have some differences.
I chose OR and love the way it rides.

I went with the Off Road, no regrets. Sounds like either would work for you functionally so go for the one that makes you smile. :spending:

You definitely will start a war. Lol!!! I hold a very strong opinion on what’s better. I like being in control of the truck including the gears.

Test drive both and you'll know exactly what you'll need / want.

Asking your question here will yield many different results.
