    They last about a couple months in my box. The lining in your humidor looks a bit dry so it’s gonna take a couple days or so to get the humidity to stabilize, you could use a couple 75% packs to kick start the process

    With my humidor I use 70-75%, during the winter the box stays around 64deg so I use the higher humidity packs. Some of the humidity percentage you settle on going to depend on how your cigars burn once you get setup for long term storage.

    Yes, The black part is the humidifier part. But you just don't fill it with water or all the water will run out of those holes. You need a material that stays moist to hold the water and it can't be something that will create mold. I've refilled those humidifiers with that green foam filler that is used by florists. Just ask your florist for a piece and cut it with a razor to fit inside the black humidifier.

    But the advice to use those humidifier packs is good advice. FYI my cigar store just sold me one and he said its guaranteed to last 6 months. I was surprised to hear that.

    Whatever you use, first soak a piece of a sponge with distilled water, squeeze out the excess water and wipe every bit of the inside of the humidor- all the cedar wood. Just wipe to make it damp. don't flood it. Then close the lid of the still empty humidor and keep it closed for two days before you put any cigars in it.
