There used to be a place called The Crucible Cafe that had glass on one side and cafe food on the other. I saw one of Chihuly’s protégés working there in some really cool life sized castings of human figures. I wanna say it’s 5th but I can’t remember.

Screw in tire on the Ferd this morning, on the Bay Bridge.

Millbrae Firestone: “Not sure how long it will take. Can you leave it with us all day?” 12 bays empty, phone lines ringing, one person manning font desk, turning away customers by not committing to any referential repair times, 3 techs drinking coffee and shooting the shit, absolutely no parking in parking lot, wouldn’t even let me use the air line to fill flat tire, suggested America’s Tire across the street...

America’s Tire: “No problem. We have one vehicle in front of you. Time frame is probably around 45 minutes. You want us to notify you via text when we are done?” I gave them the run down on the Ferd. They asked “That’s it, parked by Firestone? Let me guess? They sent you over here?” They get this all day long apparently.

Fellas on the peninsula, especially in the Millbrasia area, I highly recommend the fellas at America’s Tire on El Camino. They were expedient, professional and just righteous dudes.

    Fuck that Firestone.

If your feeling inclined. You could send your experience to the owner/ corporate. Sometimes it goes along way letting an owner know that his staff if blatantly denying business out of pure laziness/ ass-hattery

Haha. Difference between being paid by the hour and paid by the job.

Had a franchise sandwich shop one time send me across the street to a locally owned place for just that reason.

That Pancake House is always packed! But, seriously, I was in and out in 40 minutes. I barely had enough time to answer a few emails and rearrange my days schedule.

    Sorry about your wheel.

    I plan on it.
Why don’t I just keep driving and meet you there...

@jsway9 Seattle is friggen dope. this is the best time of year to go because it's past tourist season and the weather is surprisingly awesome - mostly. It could rain but you may well get blessed with epic weather. there are seasons in Seattle so the color change is nice. notice how nobody caries an umbrella. don't be that guy. bring a decent rain jacket. this is vital kit.

you can take a train from SeaTac airport to downtown for a few bucks. it's a nice introduction to the Emerald City. i haven't lived there for 5 years (disclaimer) but here are some things to do:

    - check out the waterfront by the big ferris wheel - they used to have a raised hwy called the viaduct that was hideous. there is now an open space to walk and do whatever.

    - by Century Link (Sounders & Seahawks) is the Merchant's Cafe which is the oldest bar in Seattle. get a drink and say you've been there.

    - you can catch the water taxi to Alki Beach. it's a joke of a beach but it's all Seattle has. grab lunch at Marination Ma Kai. this is where all the Seattle skyline pictures are taken. on California Street in West Seattle is Easy Street Records. you may see Eddie Vedder, he lives there.

    - you can take a ferry, operated by Washington State, to wherever. it's cool just for the ride out and back. look for whales, seals, otters, jellyfish, and eagles.

    - find Kurt Cobain's house. there's nothing there but the house but if you are into Nirvana you will appreciate being there.

    - check out Capitol Hill, the trendy, hipster part of town. Broadway Street is from that song, Posse on Broadway. Espresso Vivace next to Chase is my favourite espresso spot in town! find the bust of Jimi Hendrix and take a photo. check out the closest thing they have to In-n-Out - Dick's. you pay for condiments separately. interesting.

    - check out the Flagship REI store! it's right off I-5, Mercer Exit.

    - Top Pot Doughnuts - if you're into that.

    - Pike Place Market - aside from the needle this is the quintessential tourist stop. see the throwing fish routine. see the first Starbucks store. tons of gorgeous flowers. in the alley there's Pike Place Chowder, good stuff. you may be able to find a B1G1 online.

    - Gas Works Park - i love this place. you can watch planes take off/land in Lake Union and chill in the park. good views of the city and you can watch Seattlites doing Seattlite things (er, throwing a disc and slacklining)

    - Bruce Lee's grave site. i've actually never been there.

    - Chittenden Locks. this is awesome! you can drive there and check out the locks or, even better, take the Argosy cruise that goes from the waterfront downtown to Lake Union. it's a boat ride from the lake through the locks that ends up downtown. recommended. look for a coupon or B1G1.

    - check out all the neighborhoods, Queen Anne, University District (UW holla!), Georgetown (Georgetown Brewing fuck yeah, get a Manny's), Capitol Hill, Greenlake, West Seattle, Wallingford, Pioneer Square, Ballard, Fremont (where' the troll is). each one is unique.

    - for food there are a zillion choices. the chef of Seattle is or was Tom Douglas and he has a bunch of restaurants. the Pink Door, Cafe Flora, Tilth, Pho Than Brothers (cheap but good pho chain), so many good ones.

    - check out The Stranger - weekly mag. it may not be available as i vaguely recall them going out of print.

    - on 5th downtown is the Columbia Center - the super tall black building. you can ride the elevator to the top (not all the way up but as high as the elevator goes) an there's a Starbucks with good views. buy a coffee and enjoy the bargain version of the Space Needle.

unfortunately the Sounders are not in town. this is my favourite thing to do in Seattle.

i am sure i am forgetting a bunch of stuff. have fun!

@jsway9 my own personal Seattle experiences revolve around ships, The EMP and Sazerac(the restaurant). I highly recommend all of them.

Ships are super rad. They float. They get you places and they smell fucking amazing.

The Experience Music Project is an audio/visual assault on your senses. In the absolutely best way. It houses the largest Jimi Hendrix memorabilia collection on public display. It’s visual design is strangely mesmerizing and the liquid lounge is a beautiful display of woodcraft.

Sazerac is a Cajun themed restaurant at the Monte Carlo Hotel. Best I’ve ever had. Period.

Not enough to have a build thread.
Soak it in penetrating oil overnight and then use some compressed air to pressurize it while tapping around the circumference of the piston to prevent it from wedging in the bore. Heat may help as well. But heat the caliper, not the piston. Be ready for it to shoot out
